After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep;

vintage unknown blond horn badger (first time used)
'Webly'/Wilkinson Sword Edge (NOS)
Surrey SS (pre VDH reformulation)
Guerlain Vetiver AS (old stuff)
Malizia 'Vetyver' EdT

After a few long soaks and one practice lather, I tried this what looked to be unused old brush today. Not bad at all....did a good job of whipping things up. Not scritchy either, with the knot holding enough lather for all my passes. Didn't drop any hairs. which is always nice. We'll see how this one breaks in.

Soap: L'Occitane Cade
Aftershave: Prof Blighty's Red Ginger
Scent: Penhaligon's Endymion

The Cade isn't as strong as when first unwrapped, but definitely is well-scented as well as great to use. I hope it's not a freak cake, because it really is lovely.
 
WOW!! Only did it because I saw it here 1st(I think!) Sunday's shave. Dr. Bronner's Organic Shaving Cream. Flash back to the 1950's...Coal Tar at it's best! Even that greenish dark brown color. Should have known better when the 1st two ingredients are: organic sucrose and organic white grape juice!! Lather -no; slide -no; fragrance -no; color - stained my undershirt brown!

Hmm, a DFS at best which is a bit disappointing

Something about this didn't work tonight. Didn't get a great lather from the Valobra (think Rod's monster brush works better in a bowl for me) though it was satisfactory and though the Feather was very smooth I needed to do a few touch ups and got a couple of nicks.

Shame. That's two poor shaves I've had with the Feather so I think I'll try something else tomorrow.
