Morning gents, Friday's shave:

Hot shower
Proraso pre/post
TOBS Sandalwood soap
Merkur 39c
Feather
Alum
Nivea ASB
Pinaud Clubman

Fourth shave with this Feather blade, it was on it's way out, I probably should change blades after three shaves. Resulted in not the best shave ever, I have a bit of irritation under my jawline.

I've been using the TOBS sandalwood soap for a while now and I'm just not that impressed with it. I don't get a very good later, it certainly isn't comparable with the MWF that I've been using for the past couple of shaves. Might move it out of my rotation.

Friday

Merkur 34c
Red Personna (1)
NF2201
Arko Stick

Boots' Freshwood ASB
Acqua de Gio EdT

Three pass, face lather.

Still keeping it simple and the outcome is still excellent.

I haven't used the Freshwood ASB for a few years now and only bought it last night - on a whim of course - and it is still terrific stuff and very good value at 100ml for only £2.39.

Gillette Old with vintage (P1) Gillette Standard blade
Gillette Fatboy on 5 with vintage Personna stainless blade
Vitos coconut

As usual with very old blades, the Standard started out draggy, improved a bit but didn't cut much. Surprisingly the Personna, although smooth, wasn't that close either. Will try it again I'm another razor and a different cream.

This morning:

Imperial Leather soap
Feather Artist Club RG (wood), ProGuard blade (8)
D R Harris almond soap
Bulldog ASB
Penhaligon's Endymion cologne

Closer than I've managed in three passes before and utterly comfortable as usual. Lovely lovely soap, too.

Friday:

Bit of a change.

L'Occitane Cade soap
Edwin Jagger black badger
Merkur 34C HD
Gillette 7 o'clock green SS (2)
L'Occitane Verdon aftershave splash

I find the cade soap a little bit sticky (if that's the word). Very cushioning, not so slick.
Verdon is so light that it's hardly there, no sting and doesn't dry the skin at all. Nice light fragrance too.

Pleasant enough but not world beating, back to T+H soap for the weekend.

Thursday Evening

Feather AC-SS
Feather Proguard Blade
New Forest 2201 Brush
Provence Santé Shaving Soap
Clinique Post Shave Soother

I shaved on Thursday evening owing to the possibility of overnight snow, and needing the extra time in the morning to clear away snow/set out to work early as about 80% of people on th road have no clue how to drive in those conditions.

Very enjoyable shave, and able to take it very slowly. Stil feels fairly smooth this morning.

UPDATE: 1538 hours, and a look in the mirror reminds me why I don't regularly shave at night. I'm starting to look a bit scruffy!

Friday

Aristocrat Jnr No 48
Wilkinson Sword blade (14)
Omega boar brush
TOBS MrTaylor's Shaving Cream
E45
Speick AS

Well that's 14 shaves with this blade and I'm in no hurry to replace what is giving me excellent shaves (2 passes plus touch-up). Razor is just rinsed under a hot tap, nothing special with the blade and no pyramids :icon_cheesygrin:. With Swede I have reached 20. Admittedly soft beard type.

My wife used to buy my balm - usually around £35/40 on the likes of Floris and Givenchy. Now I buy it myself, I spend a lot less - like this Proraso at about £11 delivered in the UK. Helps a bit towards the other indulgences.
