Sunday, 19 June

PreShave: Warm water—from the tap
Cream: D R Harris Arlingtom
Brush: Kent BK8
Bowl: My recycled T&H cream bowl
Razor: Mekur 39C
Blade Astra sp (2)
Post Shave: Alum

Fragrance: D R Harris Arington

A good, three-pass shave; took my time and prepped well, so the result was a BBS outcome. It was a sunny day when I got up (still is), so I though that the Arlington cream and cologne would be an ideal choice. Enjoy your Sunday.

So after yesterdays debacle and my neck and face ending up looking like I had chicken pox (I just cannot ever seem to get on with with SE razors/blades). I opted for a very mild razor and the mildest I have is the ATT M Plate. My face thanked me afterwards. This boy will be sticking to DE shaving from now on, I will clean all the SE stuff and sell it.
Razor - ATT M plate with Kronos handle.
Blade - Gillette Yellow 7 o’clock.
Brush - Yaqi 26mm lucky dice tuxedo.
Pre shave - Prorasso blue.
Soap - Spitfire.
Balm - Spitfire.
A/S - Spitfire.
Happy Father’s Day.

Brush: Simpson Colonel
Soap: Signature Soaps Novus Spice
Razor: Gillette Slim (3)
Blade: GSB (2)
Post: Signature Soaps Novus Spice AS

Slightly better than yesterday with the repeat 3, no sign of slight sensitivity of the previous effort but I was conscious to take it easy. Good smooth finish but we'll see how long it lasts. Definitely prefer the slightly higher levels so I'll nip back up that way tomorrow.

Hope everyone has a grand day of it!

Cheers

Marc

Blade: Feather Hi-Stainless , 1st use
Brush: Yaqi Sagrada Familia
Bowl: Captains Choice Copper Lather Bowl Standard Bowl
Preshave: PAA Cube Unscented Soap
Soap: A&E Monte Carlo Croap
Aftershave: Dior Savage EDT
Balm: Dior Savage
Additional Care: Osma Laboratoires Alum Block

Got a free mini Dior Savage set a few days ago so saved it for Father’s Day. It’s a delight and the A&E Monte Carlo is a great dupe. I’ve decided I’m going to mix up my routine for a while, and stick with 3 shaves on the same razor/blade and then move on. I seem to be getting a little rusting on my blades which I’ve never had before but I guess the way to minimise this is to keep them blade free and out of the bathroom. It’s never been an issue before, but I’ll see if it helps.
Have a great Father’s Day.

When and what particular SE and blade caused you problems. I have a strong beard and used to Shave daily with DE Razors, then I tried Vintage SE and latterly modern SE and never looked back. Sounds like your technique was not quite right.
