SOTD: Saturday 13 January - Friday 19 January 2024.

Razor = Gillette King C
Blade = Vintage Wilko ( 2 )
Brush = PAA 24mm Starcraft
Cream = Nivea Crème De Barbear
Splash = Nivea Deep
Balm = Nivea Original
Well after working in four continents in 12 months and being away for weeks on end i decided to splash out on this wonderful setup.
Money was no issue.
I know you’ll all be jealous it’s not everyone that can afford such luxury but don’t worry guys you’ll get there one day
Just save your pennies.
Seriously what a cracking shave
iv used this cream before last year at some point but can’t remember exactly when.
As i was whipping it up i wasn’t really getting anywhere,
Add a little water & it transformed in to a wonderful lather with staying power.
Far far better than some high end soaps i have.
It was truly a great shave.
onwards & upwards
Until Tomorrow
Stay Safe Everyone

Thank you Richard
Best Regards, Brian

Second shave with the "pink" blade and a good one.
I don't use the Stirling Autumn Glory often and forgot it leaves the face feeling hydrated without an alcohol sting.

SOTD Thu 18 Jan 2024

Late posting - watched Question Time and fell asleep, it’s hard work being old!

Prep - shower, Imperial Leather face wash
Bowl - glass
Cream - Palmolive Classic (trying to finish this tube, but it won’t! Reckon there’s still another shave left.)
Brush - Clubman Pinaud synthetic
Razor - Merkur 34c
Blade - Derby Extra (5)
Post - lather remains face wash, cold rinse, alum block
Splash - Sierran Breeze ASL
Balm - Nivea Replenishing ASB
Fragrance - Milano Nuit

Refreshment - cup of tea (Farrer’s Afternoon Blend)

Hells bells, it was chilly today, despite the sunshine! However I seemingly had a decent shave tonight, until the alum block was applied then ouch, ouch and thrice ouch! Think perhaps this blade needs replacing. It could have been me, pressing too hard or going over same bit too much…
…but!

You had a good day?
Not bad, thanks, but a few dog treats would be nice!
Will an ear rub do?
Suppose!

My Shave today consisted of...

Brush Highlander LE2023 Badger.
Soap Mogno.
Razors Gillette Slim twist, Birth year razor.
Blade Super Shave X 4th use.
Aftershave Davidoff cool.

Thought I would break out the twist after being inspired by @Mike Smart post.
I agree it's an underrated razor as it's an excellent performer.
The Mogno is another thing that's underrated and tbh everyone who loves shaving should have at least one bar in the den.
What's not underrated is just how blooming marvelous my LE2023 Badger brush from Highlander, great brush.
Alas time for work but boy I am one handsome son of a gun.
Have a cracking day ahead everyone.

19 January

Extro Bergamotto di Calabria
Simpson Chubby 2
ES Claymore Evolution
Feather Professional
Bart’s Balm Ben Kilbreck

Excellent shave this morning. The Simpson Sovereign Fibre brush is (happily) growing on me, not a favourite yet, but, still a very good brush. The Extro soap is extra special, as is the Claymore, which sings with its Feather pro blade. All good.

Friday

Merkur 34G + Treet Platinum
Simpson Colonel
Signature soaps Valentia
Lea After Shave Balm

Wanting to know what Valentia was I fell down a fascinating rabbit hole on wiki finding out about Roman place names and settlements.I’m still none the wiser where Valentia was and so are the experts
