Todays Shave Kit Thursday 11th March 2021

Shave Score 8.0/10.0

PreShave: Hot Shower / NIVEA MEN DEEP Anti-Blackhead Scrub
PreShave Cream: Proraso Refreshing
Soap: Pheonix & Beau Spitfire Soap
Brush: Yaqi - 24mm Sagrada Familia
Razor: Merkur Progress 500 (3.0, 3.0, 3.0)
Blade: Tiger Stainless (1)
Post Shave ASL: Pheonix & Beau Spitfire ASL
Post Shave Balm: Pheonix & Beau Spitfire Balm
Post Shave Cologne: Geoffrey Beene - Bowling Green

Tried the Tiger Blade today, a lovely BBS shave was had, but it took me 4 passes!
It felt very tuggy and like it was having a hard time doing any cutting, tried different setting on the 500 but didn't help.
I've chucked the blade in case it was a duff one and loaded a fresh Tiger in for tommorow to see how that one goes.

Have a Great Day All :)

Joe

First go with the London Bridge.
Five days growth but having nicked my upper lip at the last shave with the Timeless 95OC and newish feather blade, I played it safe and used the 68 scalloped which was my daily driver in pre-COVID days.
It was immediately obvious that I was going to need 3 passes but having whipped up loads of lovely Signature Soaps lather this was no hardship!
I don’t normally do 3 passes but time wasn’t pressing and I had a very enjoyable shave.
London Bridge felt really good and left me with a really smooth shave with no nicks at all.
Very nice face feel
Cheers all
Paul

I really enjoyed todays shave, 1st use of the "new" OSP Old Gold, it is right up my street, not as strongly scented as the Spiced Road but very nice all the same.
A face lather today with the SBB wall of badger, the brush held plenty of good stuff for the shave.
I completed a 2 pass shave routine with a little touch up on the "whirlpools" giving me a very comfortable DFS++ finish. i find this razor so comfortable and easy to use.
A nice post shave routine finishing with a new to me splash, Pashana original aftershave, i can see its not for everyone, although, i think it matches the Old Gold quite well, a real old fashioned leathery barbershop smell, so far i like it.
Other deliveries today are a bottle of Bowling Green 1st sniff and i can see its something i will really get on with and 3 bottles of Pinaud, Whisky Woods, Gents Gin and Brandy Spice all to be tested later.

** So sorry to here about your bad new Barry @Palmolive fox, i have been through it twice, both times i manged to find better paid jobs at a higher level before i actually finished the old one, Good luck mate, sometimes its a blessing in disguise. **

Stay safe and enjoy your day All

Greetings,

The last few days i have been in contact with HR and our union rep due to at the start of the week Greensill our major provider of finance to Liberty Steel have appoint administrators putting 5,000 jobs across the UK at risk at Liberty Steel plants....If the inevitable happens, which i personally think it will, then i will find another job.

While i have been on furlough i have been looking into other forms of employment i won't just sit around and let the grass grow under my feet.

Back to the shave....
Last outing of the Asco Super Stainless blade which has performed adequately with each shave.. However, today i thought the blade would have started to lose it's smoothness, but to my surprise it didn't.

Over the past few months i have been pushing my blades to the max, as before that regardless of the blade manufacturer or origin i used it for two shaves then it was binned...Each time i use Williams my love for it grows...I'll be honest and and say i bought it purely for it's classic vintage cover and like Arko I don’t mind the scent ( which some people don't ) to me both have a clean lemon soap scent it creates an acceptable slick smooth lather, which an dissipate from time to time if you don't get the mix right, but overall it does the job.

Another enjoyable 3 pass + pick ups close comfortable shave with no errors to report...A great shave to finish my shaving week...Finishing the shave off with a generous splash of Brut ~Attraction Totale ASL

My face is feeling super smooth & smelling divine.;)

Keep safe, and enjoy your day ladies & gentlemen.
Stay positive Barry, with your mindset you will be doing bigger and better things before you know it! :)

@Palmolive fox - what he said mate - I wish you well if the balloon goes up. I lost my job of 25 years as of the end of last year and am re-retraining currently. I've tried to stick to regarding the situation as an opportunity. Stay positive - my best regards - I.
