Cold water, as usual
Proraso Pre/post
Scentfromheaven's Aramis soap
SOC boar brush
Muhle R41 and Stahly w/Weber handle to finish off, both with Astras
La Toja AS
Institut Karite ASB

Very, very nice shave - enjoyed every bit of kit, but unfortunately I seem to be mildly allergic to something in the soap as it started burning a bit after the first pass (no irritation though). Soap is a really good performer, will give it another chance.
R41 is great, as long as you're careful - no nicks, no irritation, nice and smooth. Martin's Stahly head finished off nicely.

It's been a while since I've shaved with this razor/blade combo, so it was interesting to use it afresh but was it fun?

No, the blade was grabby, and to get to a smooth shave it took 5 passes...yep thats right your eyes are not deceiving you..... 5 passes....so that blade was a dud then

Thursday 11th Jan

Edwin Jagger Sandalwood shaving cream
Edwin Jagger boar
New Standard with Rapira stainless
Scent from Heaven Cedarwood and Lemon a/s gel

Thought this blade might suit the New Improved as it favours an aggressive razor. With the gentlest touch I got a partial BBS shave but a fair but of sting still. The gel is good but hydrates more than soothes

THURSDAY EVENING

EJ Chatsworth Barley Chrome
Bolzano Superinox (2)
Semogue LE 2012 brush
Nannys Cedarwood and Vetyver hard soap - face lathered
Witch hazel
Castle Forbes AS balm

Same setup as last night, but a much better shave tonight. As I thought, I should have palm stropped the blade first.

This morning:

Prep: Face wash, no soap, cold
Razor: ERN 13/16"  "Crown & Sword", extra hollow
Brush: Simpson Chubby 2 in best
Soap: Trumper's West Indian Limes
Aftershave: Prof Blighty's Yellow Ginger
Scent: L'Occitane Verveine

Decapitated a spot on my cheek that I'd noticed starting yesterday and then forgotten about, but otherwise splendid.

Thayer's Lemon
GFT Limes Skin Food

A really enjoyable and effortless shave.

The TOBS creams all impress me so far. I've worked through several samples including Jermyn St and Sandalwood. All perform extremely well. A real delight to use. I'm not that partial to the smell of the lemon and lime but boy does it perform.

The Thayer's has become an essential ingredient for me. I've found that the Alum bloc is too irritating and will probably give up on using that.

The GFT Lime skin food is growing on me. The Sandalwood version is very overpowering and probably best for occasional use. I'm yet to try the Coral skin food sample.
