Prep: Shower
Razor: Valet Autostrop Mod. C
Blade: GEM Stainless Coated modified
Brush: Omega 39 Boar
Soap: Palmolive Soap + Palmolive Cream + Glycerine Ãœberlather
Aftershave: RSC Balm

A great shave but I made my neck under my ears a little tender with too much touching up. I have a little area about the size of a shilling on my neck about an inch under my ears where the whiskers grow in a circular Catherine wheel style whorl. I find it nearly impossible to get this area smooth without endless touching up.

Rich's (MachM) advice about leaving it is the sensible answer, especially as it cannot even be seen, only felt!

Regards
Dick.

Preshave : hot water and coal tar soap
Razor : gillette aluminium handled tech
Blade : palm stropped green gillette 7 o'clock
Brush : men - u boar brush
Cream : Erasmic
Post shave : cold water, alum, floid " the genuine " asb and E45 cream

Results?
An alright shave, a little neck irritation. The Erasmic cream gave a rich, slick lather, but, as I'm not far taken with the gillette greens. I think I'll stick with my derbies. (personal opinion ymmv)

Rodders

Cold shower
Proraso pre/post
Tabac shave stick
M&F blonde badger
Merkur 37c w/Astra SP
Steve's Bay Rum
Weleda ASB

Great smooth BBS shave. Hard to beat Tabac. Been a while since I last used Steve's bay rum juice - nice touch! Need to do it more often. And now the superstar - Weleda balm. This is the first time I've used it, but already think it's one of the best balms I've tried. Strong herby scent that lingers for almost an hour (might wanna watch for your choice of EdT), but I like that. Performance wise it's certainly among the very best, highly recommended.

Thursday iv April, 2013

Pre: Hot shower, lemon glyercin soap
Prep: Cold water splash, Proraso green pre
Cream: RazoRock Classic
Brush: Semogue 1305
Razor: Feather AS-1
Blade: Feather Seikan #3
Astringent: Osma alum block
ASB: Proraso white
ASL: Knize Ten

Result: Could be the end for this Seikan. Still feels sharp, but smoothness has gone a little. One more pass perhaps tomorrow and finish off with Astra green and Merkur 38. Face feels smooth, but a little sensitive to the touch.

All the best,

Jon

Finest Badger
Alum

BBS with 2 pass and a few touch ups though a bit stingy from alum and a few weepers. Not a bad shave but smoother than yesterday's.

Weleda products are very classy I think. Understated, but excellent.

Notes: A short hiatus and a good shave. Razor wasn't as keen as I'd like but somehow managed to get a very close shave without irritation. An experience I find typical with the thicker grinds.

The razor I had spent forever trying to hone. It was one of the first old French ones I'd bought and very difficult to get a consistently sharp bevel that reached the edge. Still not perfect, but good enough for now.
