Have a nice week,

A little busy lately. A few stacked up here:

Friday: Breaking out the samples
Proraso pre
Vulfix 660S Badger
GFT Rose SC (sample)
Merkur 34c HD
Gillette 7 o'clock Yellow (2)
Thayer's Peach Witch Hazel (sample)
GFT Coral Skin Food (sample)

Nice floppy feeling with the Vulfix for a change. Very different to the Duke and the Omega Boar. The GFT Rose SC was a pleasant surprise.

Saturday: Wake up face!
Proraso pre
Duke 2 Best
Proraso SC green
Merkur 34c HD
Feather (1)
Thayer's Original Witch Hazel
Proraso AS lotion

Proraso all the way.

Sunday: Loving the Bay Rum
Proraso pre
Omega 37 boar
WM Neumann Bay Rum SC
Merkur 34c HD
Feather (2)
Thayer's Original Witch Hazel
DR Harris Bay Rum AS
YSL Kouros EDT

Quick efficient shave required. Achieved. The puck in an Old Spice mug worked a treat. The Omega lathered up in a flash and then ensued a really nice face lather.

The feather (sampler) blade was interesting in that the extreme sharpness was missing at the outset. Felt more like an Astra. Very nice nevertheless.

Prep: Hot shower
Brush: Simpson Chubby 2
Razors: Bresnick by Puma + GEM Micromatic
Soap: Cade
AS: Ogalalla Limes and Peppercorns
Edt: Penhaligon's Castile
Strops: Neil Miller
Result: Uberclean :D

Wonderful shave, all the way, the Puma delivered big time, as always and I think I've found my new favorite head shaver, very aggressive yes, but what a clean/close shave :D Great pics John, even though one is rather scary :)

... I forgot, the sun came out today, even though to much snow still, it's getting lighter (pic taken right outside our kitchen door) :):

:icon_lol: Have no fear about the R41 picture it's black ink (something Hannibal said in one of the films something like "Have you ever seen blood in the moon light?...it looks black" so there's the inspiration for that shot. Quiet tricky to get with the iPhone 4S but worth it:icon_razz:

Greetings

Sunday 24th February 2013
Prep: Shower
Razor: GEM Micromatic OC
Blade: GEM Stainless Coated
Brush: Vulfix 404 Mixed
Soap: Speick stick grated into a container
Aftershave: Simple Balm

A just about perfect shave from what is (IMHO) probably the ultimate safety razor.

What also gives me a rather juvenile smug feeling, is that every component of this shave utilises cheap items that I truly believe are hard to beat at any price

Regards
Dick

Sunday:

Something mild needed after yesterday's weeper-fest!

Mitchell's Wool Fat
Semogue SOC Boar
40s Style Superspeed
Feather
Witch Hazel
DR Harris Windsor AS
Nivea Skin Energy ASB

A lovely shave from the Superspeed and Feather combo, there's a lot to be said for the mild razor, sharp blade combo. Not quite BBS, but damn close. I'm still enjoying the cold water shaves too.

Weber Polished, Trig (2)
Semogue SOC 2-band
Mitchell's Wool Fat
Lucky Tiger Face Tonic
Floris No. 89 edt

Sore but smooth. Will try the Trig in something else tomorrow and then bin. Lather want great.

Proraso face soap
Weber bulldog with Muhle R41 head
Voskhod blade
Olive wood handle with 26mm super Badger
Proraso blue cream
Ali Biyaki Alum blok
Thayers lavender witch hazel
Village barbers balm
Aqua de Palma cologne

Pairing the R41 with the heavier bulldog handle certainly helps tame the beast resulting in a very smooth and comfortable shave!

A very British shave, and a very good one, followed by an amazing and very British lunch at Sam's Chop House with old friends.

Used to live in Manchester, and visit pretty regularly with work. Been there a few times, excellent pub, I usually find myself opting for the steak n kidney pudding.

Scent from Heaven almond shaving soap
Edwin Jagger boar
Merkur 37C
BiC Chrome Platinum / Schick Super Platinum
M7S Woodspice balm

Gentle touch with a gentle but effective blade. First pass pretty good. Closer than expected. Second pass, irritation. Paused the second pass to try a Schick Super Platinum. Felt more scrapey. Face sore now. A few touch-ups with the BiC and Sticky.
I'll probably try the slant a few more times with different blades and soaps (i think the protection of the SFH soap isn't as good as some others).
