L'Occitane CADE "Ovni" + New Forest 2213 + UFOBull "Long" with Muhle R41 2010 head and Gillette Platinum #1 + L'Occitane CADE balm with Myrsol Agua Balsámica

Today I have tested this UFO handle and is wonderfull! Well balanced, heavy weight for a superb shave! I have tried this small New Forest for the first time as well, and it has a good backbone with soft tips, really good for facelathering.

Cheers!

Saturday

New purchases to try out in the soap and aftershave department this morning.

Soap: Floris JF
Brush: Neep #1041 26mm Extra Silvertip in Kenya Soapstone
Razor: Gillette Slim Adjustable
Blade: Gillette 7 o'clock SharpEdge
A/S: Floris JF

The soap lathered really well, which is unusual for me as I don't use soaps very often as |I get on better with Cream.
A wonderful aroma as well, matched by the After Shave. A very nice shave.

Aqueous cream
Cella
Progress on 2.5, 1.5 with Ever Ready blade
Professor Blighty's Universal Shaving Balsalm - lime
Paco Rabane 1 Million edt

Thought I'd try this blade I have had a while. Smooth and sharp - an uncoated blade which gave us a very close shave. I chose the Progress because it seems able to bring out the best in blades.

Re: SOTD SAT 23 June to 30 June ...

This morning:

Prep: Face wash, Imperial Leather bath soap, cold
Razor: Joseph Rodgers "The Favorite", restored by Jamie
Brush: Simpson Chubby 2 in best
Soap: Provence Sante verlaine
Aftershave: Prof Blighty's Red Ginger

Didn't get the lather right, which didn't help this already difficult-for-me razor. Still, an acceptable result with no damage or irritation (except internal). The brush feels good; I think it was a combination of underloading and drying out at fault.

Interesting looking handle. UFO?? Does it also fix the new R41 head?

Yes, it will fit every current Muhle/E&J/old Gillette 3 pieces head. It's a handle made by a local craftman artisan called "UFO22" so they use that name for its handles.

Cheers!

What's the scoop,

There's a video of him making a handle (which I saw), but it was a while back. You could find it with a search.

He has some handsome looking designs.

I'm well and truly stuck on the hybrid razor with Tech head and Lord handle. Dare I sell the Chatsworth and Merkur 38C?

Been a while Peter,

I just gotta say I really enjoyed the Royal Enfield pics a little while back. I think I told you that of all the UK made bikes back in the day, that thing was the most unusual. Heh, it was a 750, when most others were 650s, the Norton being an exception. I had one of those (1970)...an almost cafe racer kinda design.

Anyway, I'm in exactly the same situation as you when it comes to using a longer than usual handle frankenrazor. I rarely ever use my previous go to razor anymore....strangest damn thing.

I never thought that extra length would be so.......liberating. That make sense?

Nice typing at you,

Martin

SATURDAY MORNING

UFO Red Kong handle with 7 o'clock head
Gillette Super Stainless (2)
Palmolive stick
Beejay amber acrylic brush
Witch hazel
IK balm
Lavenda AS

Good shave but a few nicks as I was in a rush. We sold our old car (Leon FR) for cash and had to bank quite a large sum of money today before paying the deposit on our new car.

merkur hd
wilkinson sword (made in england)
shavemac #25
dr harris almond shave cream
mr taylors gentlemans AS lotion

top notch shave :D first time in over 20 years with an english wilkinson sword blade, and it felt good. i picked up a 30 pack on ebay for just over £2, they slipped under the radar i think. judging by the packaging they look like they were early 70s blades, and they gave me an irritation free, smooth shave... wonderful. first time with mr taylors after shave, and very nice it is too. its amazing how much a nice shave can lift your mood :)
