SOTD Sat 16th Feb - Fri 22th Feb 2013...

This morning:

Prep: Cold rinse
Razor: Joseph Allen 6/8" Extra hollow ground
Brush: Neep #955 soapstone ball and bobbin silvertip
Soap: Pre de Provence

The first few times I attempted to use this razor I found it simply didn't cut hair - no tugging, just no barbering either. Now back from honing by UKRob, it still doesn't tug, but barbers beautifully. An absolutely first-class shave :).

That little Fatip looks innocent, but bites like a Tasmanian Devil. Working from home today so went for a single pass, but plenty of weepers, happily all sealed by the alum.

Not sure if it was the razor, the lather didn't feel too great this morning and also first shave with a Sputnik, so could have been any of these, technique aside.

Always good to splash on some of the Bay Rum, love the warming scent and feeling.

All the best, gents, have a great day.

Jon

Morning, everyone.

Fridayday:

Prep: Claus Porto Lime-oil face soap
Razor: EJ DE89 head with an iKon Bulldog handle
Blade: Perma-Sharp Super (7)
Brush: Ecotools Bamboo Finishing Kabuki brush
Shave cream: D.R. Harris Almond
A/S: I Coloniali - Ebano Ebano

A good end to the week

Thursday nighs shave - 2 day growth as I let me face recover from my less than happy Feather slashing on Tuesday

Prep : Clinique face soap
Razor : Muhle R41
blade : Supermax Stainless
Cream : C&E Nomad
Brush : C&E Super badger
ASB : C&E Nomad

Bit of a C&E evening :icon_razz:

I know people go on about Feathers and dislike the cheaper Supermax but I have to say I've had a pretty fine shave from the R41/Supermax combo and this morning there's still a smoothness there that I had with the good Feather shave on Monday.

Prep: Cold rinse and "hit the spot" exfoliator
Razor: TV Rocket
Blade: Astra SP
Soap: Village Barber shaving oil and Proraso Green
A/S: Krampert's Finest Bay Rum
Result: My first cold water shave and it was fantastically smooth and refreshing!
Coupled with the menthol of the Proraso it really woke me up. Will be doing it again!

Prep: Splash of hot water
Scuttle: SWK
Brush: Thater 22mm 2-band fan
Cream: TOBS Jermyn Street
Razor: Herder 6/8" full hollow, "Friday" blade
Astringent: Osma Alum
Aftershave: Speick

Notes: Great shave today, quite easy and smooth. A little sting as I do find full hollows slightly more challenging still.
Spent a few hours the night before cleaning and polishing the razor before honing her up. Very thin grind and stiff, able to get very keen.
