EJDE89L, BiC, 'New Century' in Ash, Ingrams, Witch Hazel w/Lavender, Barbershop Bay Rum, Astral.

Greetings Graeme,

That brush is a delight, it seems to me sacrilege to dip it in that horrible local anaesthetic contained in that blue and white tube!

Regards
Dick

Notes: Good, 2-pass shave. Initially had to keep the angles quite low, but after the first pass the edge was tamed a bit and I could run it along the skin with a bit more freedom.

Cold rinse
Proraso pre/post
Palmolive grated stick/cream combo
Muhle R41 with Astra SP
Alum block
Witch Hazel

First shave with the Muhle. Took it really slowly with zero pressure resulting in a BBS shave. Great way to start a lazy Sunday!

Cella (first use)
Duke 3
Fatip on Webber handle (first time with Fatip)
Feather (1)
Bay Rum (home made)

Nice smell and lather from the Cella, Fatip I found aggressive, took my eye off the ball and it bit me, only second time since I started in December.

DFS shave slight nick which disappeared after cold splash. Slight irritation which calmed with home made aftershave application. Nice smell, not much sting so might add a touch more rum :)

A/S not a touch on Steve's (Sunburyboy), but good fun having a go......

Barbershop Bay Rum on order!

Today's shave

Oor Dicky no like the menthol marvel?

Oh slick, sensuous soother of shaving satisfaction, thy creamy, close, cooling comfort I crave....:icon_razz:

Thanks for the compliment, sir! :D

I haven't added to SOTD in a while as I've been pretty busy (and boring when it comes to shaves).

Prep: Hot Shower & Yardley cocoa soap
Razor: Gillette Slim @ 6 then 3
Blade: NOS Scottish Perma-Sharp
Brush: Shaving.ie Silvertip
Pre: Village Barber Oil
Soap: Pal-mic (Palmolive/erasmic mix) + RSC 2x concentrate cream + Krampert's Shave Enhancer + Glycerin
A/S: Homemade Jameson batch (made with Morgan's Spiced Rum) + Simple aftershave balm
Result: A great Sunday shave. I was getting stressed about stuff that needed doing so I made a terribly luxurious lather and took my time with it.

So distracted was I that I inadvertently went ATG on my neck (in both directions) on the first pass - but didn't even notice! My blade is on its 5th use but it is such a solid performer that, paired with the Slim on 6 and the VB oil, it just sliced through it without hesitation! A little touch up on 3 and I was sorted - no irritation at all.

Easy like a Sunday Evening Shave :icon_razz:

Hot shower, Bulldog facial scrub, Proraso pre-post. Don't usually bother with it pre-shave but I fancied a menthol hit to clear my stuffy nose. Worked a treat.

Weber DLC with a Shark Super Stainless on its first outing.
T&H No. 10 Cream, lathered on my coupon with a New Forest brush.

Three splendidly smooth, easy passes, resulting in a commendable shave.

Finished off with some Proraso ASL and some more pre-post.

Lovely combination of elements tonight.

This morning:

Prep: Cold rinse
Razor: Kropp 6/8" in marble resin, restored by UKRob
Brush: New Forest Tubby 2
Soap: D R Harris Arlington
Aftershave: Prof Blighty's Green Ginger
Scent: Penhaligon's Blenheim Bouquet

So. Back to the 6:30 starts. Yay.
