Couple of busy/knackered days so no posting.

Soap: Trumper's Eucris
Aftershave: Prof Blighty's Green Ginger
Scent: Penhaligon's Blenheim Bouquet

Wednesday morning:

Prep: Face wash, Imperial Leather bath soap, cold
Razor: Feather Artist Club RG (wood), Pro blade (18)
Brush: Neep #947 yew ball and bobbin silvertip
Soap: D R Harris lavender
Aftershave: Prof Blighty's Yellow Ginger
Scent: D R Harris Arlington

This morning:

Prep: Face wash, Imperial Leather bath soap, cold
Razor: Joseph Rodgers "The Favorite", restored by Jamie
Brush: Simpson Duke 3 in two-band best
Soap: Cella
Aftershave: Prof Blighty's Red Ginger

Two excellent shaves with an aging blade, then a satisfying one with an old one. The Rodgers is far my most difficult straight, but getting a decent shave with it is a challenge I enjoy.

Summer holidays now, and while I'm at home I may take the rotate brush and razor daily route :).

Prep: Hot shower
Brush: Custom w a two band knot
Razor: Red Imp 133, Morris
Cream: Castle Forbes, Lime (what a cream!:))
AS: Prada
Strops: Neil Miller
Result: Very, very clean :D

Merkur 34c
Astra SP (1)
New Forest 2213
GFT Lime cream
Bluebeards Revenge PSB

L'Artisan Parfumeur Côte d'Amour

I went for a fourth pass as I had oodles of lather left. I regretted it. Lovely frag though - enjoyed it well into the afternoon.

After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:

vintage butterscotch Made Rite badger
Schick 'L' type injector/Schick Platinum Plus (NOS)
MWF
Lucky Tiger AS and Face Tonic
Annick Goutal 'Eau d'Hadrien' EdT (bright lemon scent)

Last three shaves have been with the same razor/blade combo. Normally I'll use my adjustable, but for some reason the L caught my eye. I also wanted to try these blades that I recently bought for a quarter for a full 11 pack.

They're good. Not as sharp as some others, but still do a nice job.I can pay a bit less attention to detail with these, which isn't a bad thing sometimes.

BBS results,

Martin

THURSDAY EVENING

IMAG0102.jpg

Aristo Jr
Gillette Bleue Extra (2)
Vie Long horse brush
GFT Sandalwood cream - scuttle lathered
Witch hazel
Bulldog AS balm

Nice close shave but lordy I've got about 6 hefty 'bleeders'!

Not been a good week for shaving with the duff blade and tonight's Sweeny fest!

I'm blame it on the horse not being properly broken it. Yes, that's definitely it! :icon_biggrin:

First go with the Fatboy pass around

Kent bk8
Fatboy- Astra super stainless
Dr Harris Windsor
Profs ASB

started on 3 then went down to 2.5 not sure how I feel about it, was a confer table shave but not the closest may try dealing it up a bit.

Morning all

Hot shower
Molton Brown Re-charge Black Pepper soap
Proraso Pre/Post New formula White
Proraso New formula white
EJ Badger
DE89bl
Lord SS
Speick AS
Aqua de Parma Colonia Assoluta EdC

Lovely smooth 3 pass shave this morning,
I'm still working my way through a blade pack but the Lord SS seems a great match with the de89.

Have a good day.

Friday

Trumper Warwick Razor
Gillette "Swede" Blade
Simpson Best Badger Special Brush
Col. Conk Bay Rum Shaving Soap

Friday:

Merkur Slant 37c
Feather
Vulfix 2234 boar
Speick cream

I received the Speick earlier this week (thanks Yellow Jim), and have used it for the last two shaves.

An unusual but pleasant scent - fresh and slightly medicinal. The lather is superb - rich, stable and creamy. Very impressed.

Friday 13th July 20012

Prep: Shower
Razor: Ever Ready 1912 (English Model)
Blade: Modern GEM (4th. shave with this blade)
Brush: Vulfix 404 Mixed
Soap: Tweex Squeezed into a container
Aftershave: Nivea Sensitive Balm

My fourth morning shaving with a SE razor this is another razor on loan to me from Andrew (AJC347). Although the head design/geometry looks to me identical with the USA model I shaved with yesterday it felt different, nowhere near as much audio feedback and a gentler shave. Perhaps as this was the fourth shave with the same blade that might be an influencing factor. A super smooth shave.

I'm really getting into these SE razors; before trying them I just considered them of novelty value, I now consider them serious razors, well worthy of using as a daily razor. Next up tomorrow......... PAL Adjustable injector!

The Tweex was also new to me and apart from the scent which seems a little stronger than Arko the soap seems just the same, it is a soft tallow stick, it performs identical to Arko IMHO.

Regards
Dick
