muhle r41
7 o'clock black
shavemac #25 silvertip
dr harris almond shave cream
mr taylors gentlemans AS

lovely shave. hadnt used the r41 for a couple of weeks after a rough shave with it, tonight reminded me why i like it, fantastically close, smooth shave.

Saturday must be R41 day.

Saturday afternoon:

Pehnaligons nickel / best
Penhaligons Blenheim Bouquet soap
Muhle R41
Gillette 7 o'clock yellow
Penhaligons BB cologne

Really, really bad soap this, I've said it before I know, but I think it's time to give up and use it as a bath soap. No matter how rich you make it, the foam fizzles out to nothing in 1 minute.
Teamed with such an aggressive razor, this was asking for trouble, one medium cut right on the chin was the result of one pass.

The rest of the shave was finished off with a Jagger 87 which did fine.

Good morning friends! :)

Pre Prep + Valobra stick in bowl + New Forest 2213 + Merkur 37c Slant with Filomatic #2 + Razorock Wax Eucaliptus + Proraso splash

All has gone smoooth! This Valobra soap is simply wonderful: really slick with a classic scent which I love! About the Razorock balm, it smells very well but you must use very little amount with wet hands or could be difficult to absorb in your skin.

Cheers!

This mornings shave

Dove soap/Hot face cloth prep
The invisible edge superleather strop (elm handle)
Thiers Issard Le Dandy 6/8 straight razor
Kent BK2 brush
Pour la finition
Cold face cloth/ Geo.F.Trumper Sandlewood Skinfood.

Results BSS

You can tell that's a TI razor, she shaves with no mercy for the beard!!

Cold shower
Proraso pre/post
Musgo Real cream with a few drops of my oil blend
Morritz & Forndran blonde badger
GEM Micromatic (bullet tip)
Taylor's Gentleman's AS
Floris Santal ASB

Amazingly smooth BBS, I may well be on my path to becoming a full SE convert. And need to get more Floris stuff, if their AS is half as good as the balm, it will easily be the best one around..

Prep: Hot shower
Brush: Simpson, Chubby 2
Razor: Bartmann
Super lather: Lea (Menthol cream + soap)
AS: La Toja
Strops: Neil Miller
Result: Very, very clean :D

Crap lather, love the feel of Lea Menthol, but I didn't manage to do this combo correctly and got a thin slimy version of a lather :( ... the shave went well anyway though and this big blade (15/16) behaved very nifty :)

... and some:

Hot shower
Kent BK8
TOBS-Jermyn St
Mercury 37c slant- Polisilver stainless
Profs ASB

I forgot just how good the slant is, full week of growth, I was almost completely close after one pass WTG. Small bit of irritation on one part of my neck, think my angle has gone a bit wrong there for the last couple of weeks. Beautifully close shave though.

Merkur 34c
Wilkinson Sword (2)
EJ black badger
Proraso Green soap
Bluebeards Revenge PSB

Disappointing shave; I was sloppy and I'd slipped into soft focus. Noticed a few blemishes around my jawline that I've never had before. It actually feels more like an allergic reaction. Only variables changed recently are the Proraso soap and a Boots moisturiser. I hope the Proraso's not the issue... dropped the moisturiser for now.

Bulldog moisturiser
Dr. Dulcamara sandalwood shaving soap
Merkur Progress on 2, 1.5, 1 with Schick Krona Super Chromium blade
Proraso pre/post shave cream (old stock)

Close, smooth but a bit sore from yesterday's shave still.

This morning:

Prep: Face wash, Imperial Leather bath soap, cold
Razor: Kropp 6/8", black horn scales, restored by UKRob
Brush: Neep #947 yew ball and bobbin silvertip
Soap: Queen Charlotte Vostok
Aftershave: Prof Blighty's Red Ginger

I believe in the old days a pair of razors was a more usual setup than a seven-day set, and I could be completely content just rotating this pair of Kropps :).

The QCV is arctic on rinsing and leaves the skin tight once the feeling returns. Can't see it getting much use in the winter, mind...
