SOTD 27th October - 2nd November

Great shave today!
Prep Nanny's Bergamot & Coriander Soap
Bowl Lather T & H No. 10 Cream
Frank Silvertip Badger brush
1950s Ball End Tech fitted with Personna Lab Blue blade
Nanny's Sandalwood Post Shave Hydration Fluid
A/S Victor & Rolf Spice Bomb
What a great combination. Face like a billiard ball (and also quite smooth!)

Sunday:
Gillette Fusion ProGlide
Knize Ten shaving soap

Daughter (18) came round today with her partner for Sunday roast and then a surprise visit from eldest son (20) with his new partner and an invite for his old man to join him for his 21st celebrations in a week or two.

Kent BK8
Weber/Red Bronze Goliath XL
Polisilver Stainless
Dr Harris - Windsor cream

Bowl lathering luxury. Handle is magnificent, shame the blade needed changing.

Proraso Pre/Post (Original formula)
iKon S3S
Supermax Platinum
Penhaligons Nickel travel brush (dyed boar I think)
Art of Shaves Sandalwood cream
Nivea Replenishing Aftershave Balm

I've never actually used this little Penhaligons brush before even though I've had it a while.
Its a bit small but it did the job and it would hurt if I threw it at you as its really heavy for its size

Monday morning.

First thing of note is that yesterday I shaved with the Muhle R41, and had my closest ever shave, hence I had a lot less growth than normal this morning. Very impressed with the R41.

As it was early I went for a slightly safer razor this morning.

Prep Hot Shower
Soap Floris JF
Brush Neep 26mm Extra Silvertip in Kingfisher Burl
Razor Merkur Futur
Blade Gillette 7 o'clock Sharpedge
A/S Floris JF

A nice easy pleasant shave with my favourite soap :)

Saturday/Sunday

Feather AC SS
Feather Pro Blade
Edwin Jagger Silvertip Brush
Proraso Sandalwood Shaving Cream

I was quite surprised by how Sandalwoody this cream is, and I was also surprised by how runny/watery it is. Still. it worked very nicely.

Monday

Feather AC SS
Feather Pro Blade
Edwin Jagger Silvertip Brush
Martin de Candre Shaving Soap

Saturday was spent at the reserve greeting visitors and putting nest boxes together during the day, and in the evening out on the reserve planning for a proposed tawny owl survey.

Sunday consisted of a great deal of bugger all.

Monday 29th October 2012
Prep: Shower
Razor: Ever Ready 1924 Shovelhead
Blade: GEM Stainless Coated
Brush: Lijun Boar
Cream: T.O.B.S. Sandlwood
Aftershave: Dove Sensitive Balm

A really close shave from the 1924 which whilst being the most aggressive razor I own it is still an easy razor to shave with and does not leave my skin feeling in the slightest bit tender or abraded unlike the Muhle R41.

BTW, well done to Steve (Lose the Beard) for getting to grips with that razor, must be a combination of perfect technique and Rhino skin! Whatever it is I haven't got it.

Regards
Dick.

A lovely super smooth two pass shave.

Prep: Hot shower
Brush: The Hive
Razor: F W Söderén
Soap: Provence Santé
AS: Lavanda
Strops: Neil Miller
Result: Very, very clean :D

Ahh, lovely shave and lovely blade. Rather unusual blade design for a Swede, but this company used to be on the "wild" side when it came to blade design, for a Swedish company. I really like a smiling edge, dreadnoughtish and the shoulder less form and with 6/8 at the widest it's nice size too (+ it took a really nice and sharp edge).

Monday:

Proraso Sandalwood cream
Omega Silvertip
Gillette Slim Adjustable
Gillette 7 o'clock Super Stainless (1)
DR Harris Windsor AS
LEA AS Balm

Nice enough shave, I think I prefer the yellow 7 o'clocks to the green ones though.

I bowl lathered for the second consecutice shave this morning, I find that this brush performs better like this than with face lathering. At the end of the shave I dropped my bowl onto my foot/floor. Not only did it hurt, it smashed the bowl! Back to 100% face lathering for me from now on!

A week of leave means a nice relaxed mid day shave, after the house has been cleaned, after the dogs have been walked and after a run.

Gillette Coronation 58 ally
Gillette Super Sharp (1)
Semogue OC Boar
Palmolive Cream
Sudocreme
Nivea Creme

2 passes, perfect.
