Hot Towel Prep
Überlather consisting of Williams SS, Tabac SC and 10 drops pure glycerine
Semogue #830 Boar
Krusius Bros. KB Extra 67
Tony Miller Artisan Strop .. 30 Linen/50 Latigo
Dickinson's Witch Hazel
Nivea AS Balm
Aqua Velva Musk AS

The Williams soap makes a great augmenter because of it's subtle smell and good (for me) lathering abilities... It tends to tone down the sometimes overpowering scent of the Tabac cream... A great combination. The KB Extra is slated to be flogged on the La Veinette tomorrow.

Thursday night:

Pre: Truefitt + Hill ultimate comfort pre shave oil. (Lemony!)
Soap: T+H West Indian Lime shaving cream.
Brush: Edwin Jagger black.
Razor: Merkur 34C with Derby Extra (4).
After: T+H West Indian Lime balm.

First time with the West Indian Lime, what a lovely smell.

Thursday

1958 Gillette Fatboy (#9)
Feather
Omega cream
Kent BK4
Lloyds Chemist Distilled Witch Hazel
L'Oreal Men Expert 24hr Hydrating AS Balm
Cella cologne

Razor dialled right up, and bowl-lathering for the first time in ages, I managed a beautiful BBS in two passes (WTG/ATG) - braw! :D

Muhle R41 Open Comb
Chubby 1
Valobra Almond
The Body Shop 'Face Protector'

These Italian soft soaps are all the rage right now. My experiments with them are mainly positive; easy to obtain, quality lather, econmical etc. Subtle Almond scent is ok, though not something I would choose.

Thursday evening

Hot shower
Semogue 1305
Cella
Aristocrat
Supermax Stainless (3)
Williams Aqua Velva

The 1305 continues to impress, it's going to be hard drag myself away from this. New blade and razor combo tomorrow.

Friday

Kropp 5/8
New Forest 2201 Brush
Mitchell's Wool Fat Shaving Soap
L'Occitane Cade asb
Penhaligon's Hammam Bouquet edt

45 minutes in the bathroom for a sub par shave. **sigh**

Ian

Hang in there Ian ... You can´t let PigCat beat you to the first clean shave ... It will get better soon (within a week or so), I promise!

Friday
Pre: Sauna
Brush: Simpson Polo 8
Razor: Shavemac by Dovo
Soap: Nannys Citrus Zinger
AS: Ogallala L&P
Strops: Neil Miller
Result: Very, very close :D
I had to work for this one though, edge is beginning to lose it. Half way through it started to pull and I had to do an extra touch up to get my usual clean babyface . I enjoyed todays shave very much though, even the stroppping was a plesure, my new Miller cardovan strop is like driving a sports car. Very nice!

Soak in the bath straight from work:

Exfoliate with Clinique face scrub
Lathered up the Col. Conk with Vulfix 404
Edwin Jagger 89
Feather blade (3)
Muhle Aloe vera aftershave lotion

Probably the best shave yet in my relatively short time with DE

After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:

vintage Marshall Fields badger
fatboy/Iridium
Surrey SS (pre VDH reformulation)
Lucky Tiger AS and Face Tonic
vintage Jean Desprez 'Versailles' EdT

Last couple days shaves have been with this latest fatboy pickup. Nice shaver as it turns out. Never know if it's gonna fit right or not till you actually use the thing.

The drydown on this EdT is amazing and lasts for many hours. Heh, it's a little bit of a rough road to get there, but it settles down after a while.

BBS results,

Martin
