FT Rocket

Re: Shave of the day - w/c Feb. 12th to 18th incl.

Saturday

Hot shower and KOS face wash
KOS Azor Sensitive Razor
Simpsons 'Ehsan' Colonel
Arko soap
Thayers unscented

Excellent shave, the colonel gave an excellent lather I'm liking the less dense brushes, only problem was I found it uncomfortable in the hand so it may not make it into the rotation.

Re: Shave of the day - w/c Feb. 12th to 18th incl.

Saturday Night:

  • * Gillette (England), 1958 Television Special Rocket
    • o quite possibly rhodium plated
      + I'm no metallurgist, but, it sure is a shiny-shiny "oh, shiny razor!"
      o recently acquired from fellow TSR Forums fellow missingskin
      + thanks again Steve![/list:u]
      * Supermax Sunrise
      • o Super stainless[/list:u]
        * Williams Menthol
        • o Shave cream
          + small hole in tube
          + OCD might have over-worked the folding/rolling of the end a teensy bit[/list:u]
          * Thayers' Lemon
          • o Witch Hazel[/list:u]
            * Skin Bracer Cooling Blue
            • o By Mennen, which is by Williams[/list:u][/list:u]

              In my short time wet shaving, I have taken some of the offered chances to use some excellent razors, and this is one that goes into the top section of the, er, ... the toppier(? (wtf?!?)) section of those ... um, well, top razors.
              • I mean ... it's really quite nice.[/list:u]
                  • ... and the shave it gave, was a LNbtS* shave![/list:u][/list:u]

                    • *NOTE:
                          • Left Nothin' but the Smooooooth[/list:u][/list:u][/list:u][/list:u]

Before shaves I often think "this cheap Floid really can´t be a must in my rotation", but it has a lovely refreshing effect and works very nicely together with MWF

  • Floid (Italian) Blue has become a fave of mine too.
      • I'd love to know how it compares to the Spanish Floid Blue ...[/list:u][/list:u][/list:u]

Re: Shave of the day - w/c Feb. 12th to 18th incl.

Urban H: Can´t help you there, since I haven´t got any. But it would be good to know ...

Sunday morning
Pre: Hot shower
Brush: Simpson
Razor: J A Hellberg
Soap: Nannys Patchouli + Akro cream
AS/cologne: Fonex
Strops: Neil Miller
Result: Very, very clean :D
Ok, patchouli is not my favourite scent, but mixed with the arko cream it´s an ok scent and it gives a wonderful rich, foamy and a decent slippery lather :D

We can ask Slow S here or I can ask a question over at the Spanish forum.

Re: Shave of the day - w/c Feb. 12th to 18th incl.

After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:

vintage butterscotch Simpson badger
1949 #16 Aristocrat/Iridium
Surrey SS (pre VDH reformulation)
Lucky Tiger AS and Face Tonic
Miller Harris 'Fueilles de Tabac' EdP

It's been a while since last getting the #16 out of the arsenal, and I'm glad to have made that choice this morning. I use lots of different razors in my rotation, but none of em are quite like this one. It's a little heavier than most other Aristocrats, and unlike the others, no pressure is ever needed during the shave. Nice not having to deal with that variable, which helped in providing me with a very close and comfortable shave.

BBS results,

Martin
