Monday

Showered, then washed face with aqueous cream
Men-u pure bristle brush
BS Macca Root Cream
Merkur 33
Crystal IP

Finished with (more!) aqueous cream and Ogallala's Bay Rum, Lime & Peppercorns [very nice!]

Being new to this style of shaving, I'm unsure whether it's my technique or the blade, but using the Crystal seemed to produce a smoother result than with the Astra Super Platinum that I used previously. A slight change to the shaving direction - 1 x WTG [rather than 2 x WTG previously], 2 x XTG and touch ups gave a better final result IMHO. Even after 30 years shaving, I'm still finding out the precise direction of beard growth - I suppose cartridge-razor shaving made me a bit lazy, and I could just hack around my face until it was smooth enough.

Monday PM:

Musgo Real glyce lime oil soap
Hot flannel
Merkur HD
Crystal Platinum (I think it's its 2nd shave)
RSC cream, bowl-lathered
Kent BK2
Boots witch hazel
Nivea sensitive A/S balm

3 passes: WTG, XTG, XTG, plus touch-ups
Result: SAS/DFS.

I'd almost finished the first tube of shave cream I bought when I took-up DE shaving last autumn   , a tube of Real Shave Co. cream. Today, it seemed utterly ineffective; although it lathered nicely, it seemed sticky even after adding extra water and not at all lubricating. As a result, the shave was scratchy and caused some irritation, so the remaining dribs and drabs of cream have been dumped. Trouble is, I've now got a fresh tube of the same cream to use that I bought late last year, as well as a couple of tubes of TOBS sandalwood.  Time to shave every other day at least to use it up before it, too, loses its lubricating and cushioining properties. :shave I must also admit to missing my Slim today, especially its adjustability, as I was hacking through several days' growth.

Very nice razor and shave, this edge has been honed by the only one I feel have the same honing skills as Mr Neil Miller in England - Sham in the US (I haven´t tried every honemasters skills though, so it´s only my oppinion and I can´t compare my results with some of the highly recommended pros).

Good morning. Mikael is up early today I think. :p Nice brush as well. :)

Looks like we're getting closer to spring, at least here (finally!)

Tuesday morning:

Gillette '30s New & Wilkinson Sword > Simpsons Duke 3 in Best 50mm loft & Fitjar Fjellheim > Old Spice Whitewater > Institut Karite > YSL Kouros EdT

Uberclean and very very nice. Once your technique gets up to a level that's good enough, these razors can do magic.
