Thursday

Merkur 38C
Shark Super Chrome Blade
New Forest 2201 Brush
Proraso Pre/Post used in Pre mode
Proraso Cream
Bulldog asb

I'm having issues with my sinuses again, so this morning I decided to blast them with a good helping of Proraso menthol!!

I don't know if it helped the sinuses, but it woke me up and the shave was very nice indeed.

Thursday:

Had planet rock in the back ground.

Hot towl
Gillette Slim adjustable
Gillette 7 O' Clock Double Edged Razor Blades (Yellow box)
Pure Badger Shaving Brush
Cyril Salter Luxury Shaving Cream (Citrus)
Witch Hazel (distilled from Boots chemist)
Trumpers skin food (limes)
Taylor's of old Bond Street Aftershave (No.74 Victorian Lime)

It was such a sunny day out there I wanted the freshness of the limes and citrus.

I did a three pass shave, WTG, XTG and ATG.

I am starting to change my mind over these blades now, I had the gillette Slim set to "4" on the first two passes and than down to "3" for the last pass.

Much better results this time and I think I am starting to find the sweet spot for my face.

I might try setting "5" just to see how that feels to get an idea if I can go up a setting, but the results are a great shave.

Almost BBS but very close to it and this razor is proving to be a great work day razor for me.

Sitting in the office enjoying the mild limes aftershave and thinking what a great start to the day.

^^ Glad to hear that about the soap Vinny, I am having a hankering to get some Pens English Fern in that there wooden bowl, I know it smells alright, its just the performance question i was wondering about. Also thinking about the Opus Cream too
I have the Opus cream but have been thinking as well on the Pens soap, for months actually.
Didn't pull the trigger last summer when TESC had a 15% discount on everything, but now with their free delivery it's tempting.
But then again I'm back into my 'addiction' mode, so better leave it here, logout and leave my cc where it currently is... :!: ;)

Thursday

EJ DE89L
Red Personna (3)
EJ Med Pure
Nivea Cream (India)

Nivea ASB
Tabac AS

Three pass, face lather.

An excellent cream which I forgot I had - I bought it in a 3 pack from India with the equally excellent Old Spice and Godrej creams.

I remember emailing Nivea, when I was first searching for some of this and received a curt reply (from their PR dept) telling me that there was no demand in the UK and I ought to use canned gloop like everyone else.

I also found three more tubes of Godrej cream in my stash...

After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:

vintage Marshall Fields whitecap
1958 Executive/Schick Plus Platinum (NOS)
IK SS
vintage Ralph Lauren 'Safari' AS Relief Balm
vintage Aramis 'Havana' EdT

BBS results,

Martin

Thursday

Razor: HD500
Blade: Indian wilkinson (2)
Brush: Ivory tubby 1
Soap: Tabac
Post: Prof B Grapewood

Overall, cracking shave.

These WS blades are just so smooth, I'm really impressed. Also Fido's new Tubby brushes, simply brilliant. I can't recommend them highly enough!

Can't wait to use it again tomorrow :D

Yet another cracking shave tonight.
Normal shower and hot towel prep,
Proraso pre/ macca root cream whipped up with the wonderful chubby 2.
All scrapped off with an English rocket loaded with a Lord blade(2). This is the first couple of shaves with the lord, The first one was a little scritchy but tonight it had settled down and was nice and smooth.
Alum to finish followed by Sunbury's Bay rum.
All in all a very nice smooth Shave with no irritation.
What more could anyone want.

Oh Ye a Straight and strop from Neil. Hopefully in the next week or so. :D

Thursday:

Slim adjustable
Tiger
BS Maca Root + Palmolive ss
Muhle pure badger
Bulldog asb

I still haven't found the 'sweet spot' setting on the Slim, so tried it on 6 today. After my usual 3 passes, the results were strangely mixed: really close and clean on the cheeks and 'tache area, but a bit patchy on the chin and neck :?
