First time ever shaving with this model razor. Saw this cased one in the wild recently and grabbed the thing. Plenty of tarnish on the silver plate that cleaned up great using the old boiling water, tin foil, and baking soda trick.
I wasn't optimistic about the shave, since I don't get along with many OC types. Not only that, this thing is HUGE.......much longer and thicker handle than my other razors. Yep, it weighs a good bit as well.
Turns out this head style is lots more user friendly than my Old Types. Yeah, the teeth are longer and curved downward a little bit, which makes all the difference in comfort, I still have to pay attention to detail, but the razor feels pretty comfortable on my face. This thing surprised me in a good way. This would actually be a nice razor for many people. Heh, matter of fact, this one's gonna find a spot in my rotation to use as a fun change of pace.

Merkur Futur with Supermax blade - Vilfix 2235 - Derby Cream - Alum - Givenchy Gentleman AS
I thought today was a DE day. After a hot shower I set to with the Futur, 1st pass on 2, 2nd on 3.5 and the 3rd pass and some buffing done on 5. A perfect BBS shave albeit with a couple of minor weepers sorted out by the alum.
