S.O.T.D. Saturday 9th March to Friday 15th March 2013

A proper chop and change shave today and not for the better.

Proraso pre
Clinique gel (first pass), Liz Earle cream (second and third passes)
Gem Clog Pruf / Gem coated blade (first use)
Proraso pre again
DR Harris Marlborough as
Boots no. 7 balm

Ran out of Clinique and tried to make do with too little (in a rush). Switched to The Liz Earle cream which is slippy but offers little by way of cushioning.

Also, despite previous advice, I didn't strop the blade first and suffered for it.

Result: close, but rough as a badger's behind. Aftershave stung like billy-o.

Tabac soap
Semogue SOC Boar
ER Streamline
Gem blade
Witch Hazel
DR Harris Windsor AS
Nivea Anti-irritation ASB
DR Harris EdT

Great shave as ever with the Streamline, BBS results.

Prep: Hot shower with TOBS bath soap and Bulldog scrub and facewash.

Pre: T&H pre-shave oil

Razor: Muhle R89

Blade: Gillette 7 O'Clock Yellow

Brush: T&H Wellington Super Badger

Cream: TOBS St James Collection Shaving Cream

Post: T&H No10 post-shave Cologne Balm

A perfect BBS shave last night. The Muhle and 7 O'Clock yellow combo cut through two day growth for fun. Loving the TOBS ST James cream right now, a real manly freshness about this cream. And, despite owning and using several more expensive after-shave balms, the T&H No10 (at just £9 a tub) is the best I've used yet - smells gorgeous too.

All-in-all a brilliant shave, best of the month so far.

L'Oreal for men facewash.
New Forest Tubby 1 super badger brush.
Vulfix Persian Musk shaving crean.
Muhle R89 with Perma-Sharp blade #3.
Body Shop Maca root ASB.
Estee Lauder Pleasure for Men EDT.

Nice shave today and impressed with the Perma-sharp blade (bought a few from Nkdman to try) Have a good day gents.

Pre hot towel + Myrurgia stick soap + Omega 31052/81052 + Gillette Contour with Wilkinson cartridge #1 + Cesar Imperator cologne with La Chinata

First use of these Wilkinson cartridges. Not bad although it didn't seem very sharp.

BTW this classic spanish cologne is the most close in scent I have found to my beloved Myrurgia stick (at least once is dryied, because at first it seems the typical bath lemon cologne).

Cheers!

Prep: Shower
Scuttle: Scharzweisskeramik
Brush: Simpsons Chubby 1 Best Badger
Soap: Nanny's Silly Soap Company soft "Grapefruit and Lemongrass"
Razor: George Wostenholm 6/8" Pipe, Full Hollow
Balm: Woods of Windsor
Eau de Toilette: Penhaligon's Blenheim Bouquet

SOTD16_zps5da71b72.jpg

Notes: Not a bad shave, probably could have done with more prep on the whiskers. The razor was freshly honed/stropped the night before and performed well.
I liked the scent of the soap and it went well with Blenheim Bouquet. I now know why this scent is quite popular. It's for the extreme sleep deprived.

Prep: Shower, men+care face scrub
Razor: Gillette Super Adjustable on 4
Blade: Perma-sharp (gold and red packaging) 2nd Shave
Brush: Omega boar
Soap: Cella bowl lathered
Post: Alum, Witch hazel, Superdrug Sierran Breeze asl.

Good shave, like the perma-sharps, feather next :icon_eek:

Afternoon, gents.

A/S: Mandate

Very good.

Prep: Shower then cold rinse
Razor: EJDE89BL
Brush: Shaving.ie Silvertip
Blade: NOS Perma-Sharp Super (made in Scotland) - thanks Hairsuite!
Soap: Proraso Green + MWF + Drop of glycerin
A/S: Homemade A/S (vanilla/menthol kind of scent)
Result: Good shave from these blades, it's a shame they aren't made any more. The "uber lather" method is really good and the lather was superb.

Really impressed with my homemade A/S - since I used Morgan's Spiced Rum it has a hint of vanilla but then after notes of Eucalyptus/menthol and a touch of orange. I'm not over the moon with the scent but it is very cooling. Nothing has left my skin so soft and smooth though! Since I'm storing it in a Jameson bottle I'm calling it the "Jameson Blend (Working title!)".
