Pre hot towel + TOBS Shaving Shop shaving cream + Omega Nº45 boar + Weber Bulldog with Merkur head and Flash #1 + 1916 Hierba Fresca cologne with La Chinata balm

After some palm latherings, first use of this Omega luxury boar and... wonderful brush! A bigger, luxury version of a 31052/81052 with a solid resin handle, very soft and pleasant to use!

Cheers!

Swapping from Gem SE back to EJ DE today. Decided to try a NOS Gillette Blue that I've had for a while. It looked cool but I wasn't impressed with the roughness so switched to a Rapira after the first pass.

- Proraso pre/post
- Neale's Yard soap / Neep Cocobolo Silvertip
- EJ89 / Gillette Blue NOS WTG / Rapira pink'n'blue WTG, XTG, ATG
- Proraso pre/post
- DR Harris Marlborough AS

Lovely smooth shave in the end. Definite contrast between this and the Gem - closer shave in the end (although I'm sure technique is a big factor) and it requires a lot less concentration.

Looking forwards to the next shave with this, but then I'll go back to the Gem.

Saturday night

Proraso pre
WM Neumann's Bay Rum Soap
Omega 37
Gillette Old
Astra SS (3)
Thayer's Original
Ogalla Bay Rum, Limes & Peppercorns

Continued fantastic experience with the Gillette Old razor. Super smooth again. Mild sting from the peppercorns in the Ogalla I suspect. Nice fresh feeling.

Prep: Shower then cold rinse
Razor: Unknown Frankenrazor
Brush: Erasmic bristle
Blade: Astra SP
Soap: Arko stick
A/S: Krampert's Finest Bay Rum
Result: Bought the cheapo brush yesterday and thought I'd give it a shot. Turned out to be no bad, considering the price (£2.99). No hairs were shed and it face lathered acceptably. It was also my first time using Arko - it was a champ!

I also think I'm falling in love with this unknown razor. Handles like a cartridge (in the good way) but slices like a DE. This was my quickest shave ever: it can't have been more than 3 minutes from applying the Arko to finishing my second pass.

Afternoon, gents.

Saturday:

Prep: Claus Porto Lime-oil face soap
Razor: Yuma
Blade: Super max SS (1)
Brush: Vulfix "Grosvenor"
Shave soap: Arko stick
A/S: Grey Flannel
Cologne: Grey Flannel

Nice and smooth.
