S.O.T.D Saturday 2nd March to Friday 8th March 2013

Prep: Cold Water Splash
Razor: FaTip with Weber Bulldog Handle
Blade: Supermax Titanium #1
Brush: Neep 26x48 Stone Extra Silvertip
Soap: Lea Stick
Post: Proraso Menthol Post Cream
AS: Floid Genuine

Very nice 2 pass cold water face lather shave.

1st time with that blade, smooth and sharp for the 1st shave.

1st time using Floid, nice scent and seems like a good healer so far

Weber Polished
Feather (4)
Semogue 1520
Speick cream
Proraso blue balm
Floris JF edt

Scrubby, short loft, soft tips. Great brush for a quick shave. Got a 1438 in the wardrobe to replace the 1520 when it dies, but I hope that day will never come!

Cold shower
Proraso pre
Himalaya soap (used as a shave stick)
Muhle synthetic 23mm
Weber w/Feather
Myrsol Lemon
Floris ASB

Good BBS shave. Himalaya is an amazing, skin friendly soap, but I'm becoming a Tabac junkie - nothing seems to provide that level of goodness on all fronts! Luckily, I do like the smell too ;)

Friday viii March

Prep: Hot shower, Nivea Q10 Facial Wash
Pre: Cold Water and Proraso White
Brush: Grosvenor 404 Mixed
Soap: Viking (a sad day, the end of this tube, the first complete usage since I started this game)
Razor: British Ever Ready with Gem Blade #2
Post: Sal Alum, Thayers Witch Hazel ASL, L'Oreal Cool Kick After Shave Balm
Fragrance: L'Occitane Verdon Splash

Result: Lovely smooth relaxing shave this morning. The Ever Ready seems to be better for me than the Gem, but I have a Micromatic winging its way from across the pond, so will give that a go. Said goodbye to one of my first tubes of cream - the Bulgarian Viking Sensitive. A great product. I'll buy some more when I go back to Bestshaves.net for blades.

March 8th

Prep : clinique face soap
Razor : Muhle R41
Blade : Rapira stainless
Cream : Proraso Red
Brush : C&E super badger
AS : Old Spice Whitewater

A whole week using the same shaving cream - blimey

Razor: Super Adjustable aka Black Beauty
Blade: Lord Super Stainless
Brush: Rod Neep custom silvertip
Soap: DRH Marlborough

Pre-shave: Wash with Clinique cleansing bar
Post shave: Coral Skin Food onto damp skin, then Vaseline Intensive Care moisturiser

Great comfortable shave today :) The Lord blades are soooo smooth, they are a joy to use. Needed an atg pass to get close enough, but still no irritation. I didn't need the skin food this time, but nevertheless it made a nice finish to an enjoyable shave.

Prep: Shower
Scuttle: Schwarzweisskeramik Basic
Brush: Simpsons Chubby 1 Best Badger
Cream: Castle Forbes Lime
Razor: Le Grelot Frameback
Astringent: Osma Alum
Aftershave: Speick
Eau de Toilette: Penhaligons Blenheim Bouquet

SOTD14_zps3d545948.jpg

Notes: Initially quite liked the shave. The razor was doing an excellent job with its WTG passes. A bit stickier when I attempted ATG.
Still a great result and I am thinking very hard about getting some Blenheim Bouquet. It's a pleasant enough smell - just not complex or masculine enough. All I get from it is nerioli - I smell like an orange.

Friday

Prep: Hot Shower
Cream: T+H West Indian Limes
Brush: Neep Aztec 29mm Extra Silvertip
Razor: Gillette NEW on an iKon Bulldog handle
Blade: Rapira Swedish Supersteel (2)
A/S: T+H West Indian Limes
Cologne: T+H West Indian Limes

This is an excellent blade, I may have to acquire some more of these, a very nice shave again.

Pre hot towel + Provence Santé shaving soap + Artisan TGN Finest 26 mm. brush + Gillette Contour with Feather #5 + Provence Santé splash and cologne + La Chinata balm

Last use of this Soltech Feather cartridge. Not as sharp as I like, so the shave was not very close, but irritation&nicks free at least. Next Monday I'll try another Contour compatible cartridge brand.

Cheers!

Friday evening

Proraso pre
MWF and Omega 37
Gillette Old w Astra SS (2)
Thayer's Original
Ogalla Bay Rum and Sandalwood

Prep: Shower then cold rinse
Razor: Unknown (Frankenrazor? - see this post)
Brush: Silvertip from Shaving.ie
Blade: Astra SP
Soap: Village Barber shaving oil and Proraso Green.
A/S: Nivea Arctic & Krampert's Finest Bay Rum
Result: Strange shaver, felt almost toy-like in the hand and against the face. The first few strokes took some effort due to the bulky size of the head, but incredibly smooth. I didn't think it was cutting at all, but left me pretty much smooth. I do mean "pretty much" as there are still some rough patches that I'm sure buffing would have sorted. Overall I'm very impressed with this little beast!
