Monumental......breathtaking......thrilling, and that's only the film! By far the best mountaineering film I've ever seen, really well done. Hadn't realised it was a true story and all the better for it I believe. Must have been a bitch to film. 8/10

You've seen Dead Man's Shoes yeah? Favourite film that. True masterpiece. Also Tyrannosaur which features Olivia Coleman and directed by Considine is good if you haven't seen it.

Yeah I've seen dead man's shoes. One of my favourites. I've not seen tyrannosaur but it's on my to watch soon list.

I really liked Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon when it came out years ago and was looking forward to the sequel.

Unfortunately...not even Michelle Yeoh could save this rather deflated movie.
It was also, I think, a terrible idea to shoot it with spoken English (it's actually not dubbed) as that did take away some of the original experience.

I'll give it a 5/10...but three of those points are because of Ms Yeoh..

The Monuments Men

Great cast, gentle film that avoids the need to sensationalise. Standout performance from Cate Blanchett. The photos on the end credits are amazing. So long as America doesn't elect a nationalist dictator in November I'll be happy to watch it again. Seeing it last night made me nervous for our future.

I watched Goosebumps with my 10 year old son on Sunday, he really enjoyed it and the experience wasn't as awful as I expected, in fact I quite liked it too.

Watched SPECTRE again yesterday afternoon on blu-ray. Still don't get what people don't like about it - it was deffo more of a 'James Bond' film than Skyfall.

Not so sure about that Oscar winning song cobblers though.

I enjoyed it at the cinema and I'll probably get the Blu-Ray once Daniel Craig leaves the role and there's a boxset with all his Bond films on.

I agree it was "Bondier" than previous outings with more nods and winks. The whole thing of tying in the big villian's motives to Casino Royale, QOS and Skyfall was a bit cumbersome though - Seemed a very convoluted way of going about things for a criminal mastermind but hey-ho that's another Bondy aspect I suppose.

Loved the camerawork and the sense of scale with all the extras on the precredits action sequence although I thought the big helicopter set-piece felt clunky in comparison.
