My shave today arrived this afternoon which is unusual for me, but thought 'sod it' and get it out of the way. So the theme was ''Sod it and get it out of the way'
Stuff it razor - Ever Ready 1912
Sling your hook blade - GEM
Move along brush - Alpha Wickhams Artic Fox
Piss off soap - Abbate y Mantia Krokos
Get out my hair scent - Abbate y Mantia Krokos Cologne
These 1912 things rather intrigue me. In theory and to look at they should happily shred your face, but in practice they don't. Which is rather nice for my face. I should be so lucky.
No! If you were Japanese you would be a Goddess Kylie and I would rate this song highly, but you're not, so sod off. Nice bubbles though.
No great choice of blade here so a GEM it was. Put the two together and for something created at the beginning of civilization a damn good and capable piece of kit. If the Vikings had been armed with 1912's we would all be sporting shaggy beards and involved in all sorts of dubious illegal activities. A night out in Bootle. To be honest I have always had a great night out there and the only place a bouncer looked at my shoes and said 'What the fuck are those? Trainees mate, trainees'.
Stolen footwear apart, the more I use this soap the more it sits at the top of my tree. It just does everything one could wish for and it does it in a wonderful way. Good God, even the scent is top notch and unlike many soaps lasts beyond the shave. The brush isn't ideal for face lathering so this shave had to include my long standing Mexican cereal bowl which rather suits the soap as well. I still can't say it is my favourite brush and the Cashmeres are a far better knot, but hey, no hassle and a face full of golden
showers lather. No cereals included.
Mix and match and the end results were rather very good to say the least. A few weepers and what one would expect from a blade with a pedigree which included the conquest of Northern Europe. Nothing the styptic couldn't take of and the Brits failed to achieve.
Throw on some witch Hazel, a generous splash of the Abbate Cologne and one most excellent shave. The Abbate scent certainly is different, but very appealing and it does come in a most beautiful bottle. So much so I had to include a photo
You will be thankful I am not going to end on Kylie Minogue but you will be happy I ended on this jolly tune from 'Lucie, Too'. A much better choice than having you all do the locomotion.
