Prep: Shower, Palmolive Olive Oil Soap,
Soap: Rasozero Agrumella
Brush: Yaqi 24mm Sagrada Famila Tuxedo
Razor: Merkur 34C HD
Blade: Gillette Super Blue (1)
Post: Duru Kolonya, Bart's Ben Cruachan balm

Today was the turn of one of the first soaps I bought when I started this crazy journey! It's never been used. Bigger brother, the Barbacco has headed off to pastures new as I'd relegated it due to a wishy-washy scent, and I wondered if I'd ignored the Agrumella expecting the same. The smell is definitely mild, and more floor cleaner than citrus grove, but the performance was very good.
The Super Blue gave a brilliant result, and the Duru/Ben Cruachan combo was the citrus hit that was lacking in the soap.

Brush - Yaqi Sagrada Tuxedo 24mm
Soap - MWF
Razor - Fat Handle Tech
Blade - Gillette Minora Stainless (6)
Post - Denim

Crikey half the of year is already behind us. Anyway on to a new month....

I'm not sure why I do not use the Fat more often, the lather is as good as anything and the post shave feel leaves my face feeling delightfully soft.

The most enjoyable shave with the Minora Stainless so far.

Have a good day gents.

3 passes for BBS - blackbird doesn't fail to provide excellent shaves. Lathered up with new to me soap base (sample) - but that did provide milky and cushiony lather. Definitely love the milky creaminess of that soap.

WTG, XTG and ATG did provide a nice face feeler, with one tiny weeper that was a user error. Blade was okay - will give it another outing sometime soon. It did feel a bit tuggy for my liking - but I did learn that some blades just don't work for me in the blackbird, but they do in other razors. They will get second chance.

Finished it all up with something to kill the smell off - D.R. Harris Arlington aftershave milk. Nice moisturising and pleasant citrusy scent. Definitely something nice to push away the smoke cloud caused by the soap.

Soap scent
Smoke, smoke smoke. Did I mention smoke? no? Smoke it up then. Off the tub that's what I'm getting. Also a bit of rotten apples I'd say... you know, the kind of ones that fell down in small orchard and nobody bothered to pick them up, then they start rotting and polluting the wet leaves with their scent too. Slightly sweet scent too, as rotten apples are. Once lathered, this is just an extension of it - just with bit more of rotten apples although the smoke scent is still prominent. Not my type of soap - I'd let it go up in smoke. Serious. I feel like this scent would be well placed for halloween - to get more sweets from people since they'd just want to get away from you, thinking that it's some actual decaying corpse coming at them. In a way the soap makes me think of Ponoma by Southern Witchcrafts, however the complete opposite of it - where Ponoma reminds me of spiced apple pie, nice, warm in a way and great scent - this makes me think of something completely disgusting lol!

Aftershave
Now this is where I feel like I came back alive! Nice citrus and fern scent that's also refreshing to the face. Goes on quite well and soaks into the skin without much problem. Scent isn't lasting by all means (10-15 mins max), but throughout that time keeps it nice fresh and citrusy.

Thur 1st July

Stirling Syn 26mm
Vitos Super Red
Occams Oren- 3dot
Schick Proline ( 5 )
Alcolado Glacial A/S splash

After a poor Shave with the Oren which was totally my fault, I have been using it every other day. Today it was a delight as the Vitos is such a good soap to work with, a smooth shave with a great close all round finish. Will continue to use this for the rest of the week as away again tomorrow.

Prep: Shower with Baxter’s of California Daily face wash.

Pre: PAA Cube

Soap: PAA future fiction

Brush: PAA Phantom Aerolite Synthetic Shaving Brush
Razor: Pearl Flexi

Blade: Persona Viking Sword

Post: Alum, Baxter’s of California Shave Tonic and Baxter’s aftershave balm.
I am in love with this brush already just from the looks but the performance is also fantastic! The tips are soft it seems bigger than it’s 26mm head and yet quite a medium firm brush.
I thought I’d pair it with the future fiction and cube to go full PAA and it was a great shave. The Pearl Flexi never disappoints give a smooth and close shave.

I owe the thread a double header, as I missed out on a previous shave, despite taking the photo etc. Real life intervened, so here we go with the most recent two shaves.

IMG_2021062sm.jpg

Back on Monday, I was finally able to replace the sample of Stirling Gentleman, which I didn't like at all, it being to floral, with a sample of Stirling Blu, in my Patum relish jar. Polo Blue is one of my long time favourite scents and I was keen to try the soap. The soap's scent is reminiscent of the aftershave but not as close, say as their Old Spice (Stirling Spice) or Hermes Terre D'Hermes (Arkadia) clones. It was a strange one, as the scent grew after the shave was over, as it wasn't that strong during? I liked it but I'll give it some more use before I decide whether a full tub should join the collection. By way of contrast, Stirling Spice was an immediate "Yes, I'm buying that!"

As usual the Merkur 34C, Voskhods and Yaqi performed brilliantly.

Razor: Merkur 34C
Blade: Voskhod (1)
Soap: Stirling Blu
Brush: Yaqi Purple Haze
Pre-shave: PAA Cube
Post-shave: Polo Blue
Bowl: Face Lather

Yesterday, I enjoyed this little lot.

dkpwatson64_1625083357.jpg

The full tub of Stirling Spice is representative, as I managed one final shave from the sample I've been using for a while. The brush is also wrong, as I used my Semogue 830 which lathered up the remnants of the sample to a beautiful, whipped cream consistency. Even if the scent is not to your taste, the soap is always a winner.

The Giesen and Forsthoff 1353 just works so well with my face and with every blade I've tried from Feathers to Voskhods, it offers a lovely smooth, trouble free shave. It's a zamak head on a stainless steel handle and I'm definitely thinking of ordering another, just in case. Three passes, with neck pick ups and plenty of Old Spice gave me no burn at all. Nice!

Stay safe and enjoy your shaves!

Razor: Giesen and Forsthoff 1353
Blade: Israeli Crystal (3)
Soap: Stirling Spice
Brush: Semogue 830 Boar
Pre-shave: PAA Cube
Post-shave: Old Spice

Razor = Wilkinson Sword Classic

Brush = Razorrock 24mm Synthetic (n)
Soap = Wilkinson Sword
Splash = Nivea 2 Phase
Balm = Nivea Skin Energy.

Well i won the lottery this week so thought i would splash out,
Did i mention it was a tenner on a scratch card :ROFLMAO:
I’m trying to have a shave everyday this week & it’s not been easy with my skin type but i’m going for it anyway.
Under £20 for the lot.
I Genuinely think this razor is underrated
£4.95 with 5 blades and you can’t go wrong.
iv actually had worse shaves with more expensive stuff.
Also like the fresh scent of the soap which was £2.75 from Amazon
Definitely be using this set up again and would recommend it to anyone else that’s won the lottery :sneaky:

Prep: Face wash with Baxter of California facial scrub
Pre: ES Pre Shave Oil
Razor: Tatara Masamune
Blade: Dorco Titan (1)
Brush: Frank Shaving
S Soap: Proraso - Green
Post: Baxter of California ASB

Today I've decided to put on hold my experience build up with the Feather AC SS and try out some new stuff. I was gifted by one of my brothers a new shaving brush/bowl set accompanied by a shaving soap. It was nice to go back to the Proraso green after so many years.
I have the Edwin Jagger silvertip synthetic as my daily driver so switching to another brush was refreshing. Back in the days when I bought the EJ brush I went for smallest size as I have a small face and thought it was fine but now having something else to compare it with I realise it might have been too small. The Frank Shaving brush performed really well, whipped up the lather in no time and with the light wooden handle was very easy to manoeuvre.
I also tried out for the first time the Dorco Titan blades (thank you @saj1985 for enabling). At under £4 for 100 I wasn't expecting much but was pleasantly surprised. Much sharper than expected and quite smooth. Don't think they'll dethrone any of my regulars but I will definitely keep them in the rotation.
All in all a great 3 pass shave with a BBS finish.
