If you don't already know the back story of the name of the soap - it is both - odd and interesting - I will of course, let you be the judge of this.
Cheers - I.

Yes, I think it's more personable when there are real back stories to products or their names.
It makes me want to have a connection with it.

It's actually a very very nice shaver. Gives the same excellent finish as The Leaf but feels more like an ordinary razor. It has the same magnetic retention as it's older brother and the TTO is amazing to watch....and use.The engineering and design really is top notch. I probably still prefer the Katana but for me......that is only due to price and the ability to change handles.

Vintage Month - Razor #25

Pre: Shower
Brush: Yaqi Rainbow 26mm
Soap: Mitchell's Wool Fat
Razor: Valet VC1 Gold Tone
Blade: Despined GEM PTFE S/S (3)
Post shave: Alum, Cold water Rinse, TC's infused Witch Hazel
Balm: Barts Balm Cinnamon & Patchouli Balm & Lotion
Aftershave: Signature soaps Danum Splash

A very nice shave with the Valet VC1 today, plenty of slick creamy lather from the Yaqi and MWF, enough for 4 passes.
I complete a full 3 pass shave WTG / XTG & ATG for a very close BBS finish.
I know i have said i find these Vintage Girls mild and efficient, however, you still have be careful, i noticed a small graze under the chin during the ATG pass which prompted the use of the alum block.
A nice post shave matching the Barts with the 1st use of @BrianH Danum splash, very nice.
Stay safe and enjoy your day.

Thanks for the reply. The blade opening mechanism does look fab. Having never used a half de blade razor, I'd imagine the slim head profile is particularly manoeuvrable on the moustache and other tricky areas.
I've also noticed that the Katana gets a lot of love.

Thanks Tony, Hippy for the day! I have a customer who calls Patchouli soaps Oily Biker. She and her husband in the 60's used to go travelling on motorbike for days without a wash. But always smelt nice with patchouli oil rubbed on their leathers.

Vintage Month

Brush - Yaqi Sagrada Tuxedo
Soap - MWF
Razor - Fat Handle Tech
Blade - Gillette Winner Platinum (2)
Post - Cien Aqua

Second time using this new Yaqi and it shed a few hairs, which is unusual for a synth, but it produced a delightful lather with MWF today, it'd been a while since I last used it and it really does produce a great lather and the post shave feel is superb.
The blade was a bit scratchy for yesterday's shave, I think that was down to a poor lather but today it was so smooth, at times it felt like were was no blade in the razor, I was planning to just do the one pass but my face felt little resistance on the first pass so I went ahead with another additional pass.
I find this blade seems to really suit my vintage Gillettes.

Have a good start to the week chaps.

I wouldn't worry about the shedding. More than likely a quality control thing. From what I know, the fibres are set into the glue, and should be combed for loose ones. My Red Marble Tuxedo lost a couple the first two shaves. It settled down nicely.

Pre: Hot Shower
Soap: TGGR Highland Bothy
Brush: TGGR 2018 LE Synthetic
Razor: Executive Shaving The Outlaw (Mild Plate)
Blade: Vintage Scottish Perma Sharp (1)
Post: Cold Water Rinse
A/S: Barr's Irn Bru & Executive Shaving Duine Fon Choill
Balm: Executive Shaving

A Burns night shave with all the products being Scottish. The mild plate on the Outlaw razor is excellent and I could've got away with 2 passes and pickups. The Irn Bru splash worked a treat and the sugary rush really worked wonders for closing the pores. Half my teeth have fallen out due to the high sugar content but (that's) part of being Scottish! Happy Burns night to you all.
