SOTD 05 January 2021
Pre-shave: Hot shower, Kiehl's Facial Wash, followed by cold water splash.
Soap: Martin de Candre Fougere.
Brush: Shavemac 'The Flat Top' Silvertip.
Razor: Rex Ambassador (1.5).
Blade: Treet Platinum (Day 3).
Post: Cold water splash, Musgo Real Aftershave, followed by Musgo Real Aftershave Balm.
EDP: Bleu De Chanel.
A relaxed shave this morning, with esentially the same set-up as Monday - 3 passes WTG, XTG and ATG - its been a while since I have done a ATG pass; I had an appointment at the eye clinic today, and wanted a good shave under my belt. BBS with no issues to report, I felt good to go
I have had a stye (no big deal) but it had not quite shifted; however, there was an infection and a build up of fluid under the eye.
The good Dr announced that the fluid needed drained - no problem I thought, until he described the procedure (needed to turn my eye lid (upper and lower) inside out to conduct checks, an injection to freeze my face, then an incision to drain).
It all went well, other than the sight of a needle going into my face, very close to my eye ball - fluid and gunk drained, eye patch applied, when I got off of the trolley, the first thing I noticed when I walked by a mirror was a slight shaving burn on the neck., which I was hacked off with, as I thought the shave went well! By the time I got home and had a look, the redness had gone.
A big shout out to all of the staff who looked after me today - not least the nurse who was dissapointed that the draining of the fluid/infection did not turn out to be a mini-episode of Dr Pimple popper.
I still can't get over that the first thing I noticed after the procedure, was not the XL eye patch, but some razor burn on the left side of my neck.
All the best,
Chris
