The Modern is an extremely smooth shaver. Three easy passes to BBS. I like this razor a lot. Light weight at 45 grams and although the handle is very smooth I found no slipping during my shave.

Managed to snaffle a couple of packs of NOS Wilkies over Christmas from my step father-in-law - he's never jumped on the carts bandwagon. I have to concur with the consensus that it's a shame they don't make Wilkies like this any more. I'd be very happy with them as a mainstay blade.

Too right!

Razor: Gillette Rocket HD

Brush: Carved Beech 24mm 2-Band
Soap: Trumper's Coconut
AS: Barbershop Bay Rum
Post: Astral Original

Not as close as it could've been but no drama either. Very refreshing, all told.

As an aside, I was at the Doc's today and upon popping into the adjoining Chemists, I was pleasantly surprised to see them stocking not only DE blades, albeit the German Wilkies, but also my favourite shaving medium, Ingram Quality Lather Shave. Naturally, I relieved them of some.....:D

Perhaps that was why today's shave wasn't tiptop - no Ingrams!

Close, comfortable and refreshed. What else can you ask for?

MONDAY EVENING

Razor: Schick Adjustable
Blade: Chick

I'm really enjoying the injectors at the moment. If anyone fancies selling an F type then let me know (I can dream!)

That razor/blade combo's a good one all right....used it myself a few times before moving on to different blades. Great having the ability to dial in the bite.

Believe me, I was more than surprised to find out how well that goofy looking F type fits me. Up till trying one, the adjustable had been my favorite injector by far. Since then it's not gotten wet even once.

The F type shave reminds me of that feeling when you get the back of your neck shaved with a haircut. Almost a sorta tickle, if that makes sense. Perfect amount of aggression, which is nuts for any kinda fixed head razor. Heh, even the short handle somehow feels good in my hand. Heh, used it today, matter of fact.

Finding one for yourself in nice shaving shape is a good goal for 2014,

Mart
