Prep: Shower, L'Oreal daily Purifying Wash
Pre: Tepid water splash
Brush: Dickinson & Gilroy Boar
Soap: Mitchell's Wool Fat
Razor: Valet VC3
Blade: Feather FHS-5 Hi Stainless #2
Post: Alum, home brewed mentholated tea tree witch hazel, Weleda ASB

Result: Still astonished by the quality of the shave this 70 plus year old razor gives me. Of course the Feather helps, but so glad I gave this a run out. Happy boy.

Have a good day, gents.

Prep: Shower
Brush: NF Tubby 1 2-band
Soap: MWF (face-lathered this time)
Razor: iKon open comb
Blade: Voshkod (2nd use)
After: Speick balm

Despite following matic59's 6 tips for MWF I'm still struggling to get a thick lather that lasts. It's too thick and lacks slip at the start of the pass and then by the end it's thin and still lacks slip - I don't even have hard water to blame! Also I think I might be sensitive to the lanolin as I'm red and sore at the bottom of my neck area on both sides. I used it every day for 5 days after Christmas and started getting red, had 4 days using NSS unscented with goat's milk to calm it down and first use back and I'm sore. Maybe the lathering problem is a moot point. Still, nice jar.

Saturday 4th Jan.

Hot towel
Scodioli Laudanum soap (needs work to get acceptable lather but worth the effort)
'le Tuft' Custom Brush with Super Silvertip - fan
EJ DE87 with Gillette Superthin Platinum
Nivea post shave balm
Penhaligon's Blenheim Bouquet

Refreshing! :icon_razz:

Prep: Hot shower
Pre: Murdock Avalon pre-shave oil
Soap: Murdock Avalon cream
Bowl: Woodhead Large Tall Scuttle
Brush: MÜHLE Kosmo silvertip synthetic
Razor: Fatip + Templ8 handle
Blade: Sputnik (1)
After: M&S Harvard AS, Murdock Avalon ASB, Murdock Fougere Cologne

First use of Murdock products (early valentine's present) and it's impressive. Scent is very masculine, citrus with a touch of tobacco. No problem with the cream.

Haven't used the Fatip for a while now but no problems although I had to concentrate as it is not forgiving. Slight irritation on the neck but that went with the ASB.
Skin feels a little tight afterwards, not sure what that is because it doesn't feel dry or uncomfortable. It may be the cream or the ASB; I'll need to investigate more.

Murdock is probably the most expensive cream I've used, is it worth it? Well, the scent is great but the performance is on par with TOBS, T&H and NSS. I still prefer NSS Down Home Summer and Vanilla though, it'd take a lot to beat those.

I must say that I do feel expensive this morning; which is nice.

Razor: Weber PH head on iKon handle
Blade: SuperMax Super Platinum (2)

Smooth 3-pass BBS. Pulled out the vintage OS stuff today. A warming scent for a miserably wet day. I forgot how easily this soap lathers so made enough for a dozen passes.

Saturday

Tabac
New Forest Tubby 2
Aristocrat Junior
Rapira Swedish Supersteel
Pinaud Vanilla AS

Not the greatest shave, a bit of irritation on my neck which is unusual. Smooth enough in the end.
