  • Lather: DR Harris Almond hard soap
  • Blade: Joseph Rodgers "FOR THE ARMY" (cutlers to their majesties) 6/8 wedge
  • Brush: Maggard 24mm synthetic
  • After: DR Harris Milk of Cucumbers & Roses
If I were forced to choose, this might be my favourite soap. Lightly but pleasantly scented (Rose Geranium, Cinnamon and Clove - now in DR Harris's just released scent line "29", though it's been used in their almond soaps for years), the scent is nothing to do with almonds (the soap simply uses almond oil). A fantastic shave.

Weekend ready with some MdC & AdP!
Cold water
Haslinger Sheep Milk Soap
Gillette English Super Speed
Treet Dura Sharp
444 Alum Block
Bello Bay Rum

Always striving to be challenging out of vogue, thought I'd give a shoot at a carbon steel blade. Most good cabinet-makers chisels and hand plane irons use high carbon steel. Can be made way sharper than SS. Seemed logical that the Treet Dura Sharp blade would be just the ticket. Wasn't disappointed. Great close shave. The Haslinger soap is slicker than owl snot and the Bello Bay Rum Lotion is right up there.

SOTD
pre shave H2O following a hot, hot shower.
TOOBS Mr Taylor cream (still sample from ShaveDen)
Shavemac TSR 16 brush (am still in love)
Kai captain (mild blade) for the cheeks and under neck (one step at a time!)
Rockwell 6s (tried the 3 head) with Gillete Silver Blue for the rest.
Alum block then Proraso Burn relief
Myrsol emulsion!
Nice shave, very smooth blade. I think the Kai Mild blades are not for me!!!

The one I shouldn't have got away with

Hot face wash with Groomed scrub
Wickham's Super Smooth V2 sample
Switchback brush
Woodhead scuttle
1966 Gillette Slim adjustable (4)
1971 Gillette Platinum (3)
Pinaud Clubman Bay Rum splash

Had to rush this, but still got a lovely smooth, safe shave and the Clubman didn't sting me senseless. Good times.
