just received a 40s superspeed today and had my first run out with it tonight. im very impressed, a very comfortable and easy shave.

yep - been hoping it was something else I've been using but today confirmed it's the Bay Rum. Bummer.

Aftershave: Pashana Bay Rum
Cologne: Encre Noir
 
Prep- Hot water splash
Soap- Tiki 'Davey Jones Locker"
Brush- Muhle STF V2
Razor- Ever Ready 1912
Blade- GEM coated [5]
Post- Thayers witch hazel

Best smelling soap in my possession, performs great as well.

Super smooth. The ikon was amazing, fantastic shaped head and the wsp was super smooth with a fantastic post shave feel. First try of this unsusual balm, smells unusual and looks a bit greasy but soaks in well and cools nicely. I'll definitely use it again.
 
After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:

1964 rebranded Macys flopmeister silvertip
'Webly'/Schick Plus Platinum (NOS 1969)
Safari SS
Neutrogena oil-free moisture sensitive skin
RL 'Safari' EdT (vintage juice)

Long strokes with this set up and soap. Like using a cartridge but fun. No need to concentrate.....not exactly auto pilot but very stress free. Poifect!

A bit taken aback today. On blade use 5, with no pulling etc got DFS, with
my skin & beard never likely to achieve BBS. Maybe have to revise my views
about what is the best all round razor for me. Certainly King of MM Family.
