S.o.t.D Saturday 21 June - Friday 27 June

I'll be taking my Guard on holiday in the summer. For a fast, no frills, no drama, straight-up not too close not too shabby kind of shave ... unbeatable. Just what you need on holiday.

... but tonight, I'm going to have the worst shave ever.

... and so, it's official: I can shave with a rusty spoon and get a smooth finish!

Reputed to be the worst shave ever, I thought I'd give it a go anyway and you know what? Perfectly good. No drama. Sleek, smooth and very happy. I'll do this again.

Wow, 2-day stubble cleared in 2 passes. This blade is wicked sharp!

I have a Techmatic, pjgh. I've used it three or four times. It's ok. Not great for me but decent enough. The Guard beats it and a lot of DE razors in terms of performance. One cartridge seems to last ages.

The Proraso really worked a treat as it's so bloody hot at home!!! I have three fans on me in the bedroom!

Mostly very good except for a proper nick on my sideburn, first I've had for ages, my these Personna are sharp!

I have to say a few words about Simpsons customer service. After more than a year, I was having a hair loss problem with my Chubby 2. I sent it back to Simpsons, they did a few tests and they finally sent me back a brand new Chubby 2, as well as a Simpsons shaving cream as a gift!!

Result: Nice again. The LT Face Tonic is so soothing and soft. Like wafting a cloud over ones face. Lovely.

I've been using straights/CJBs exclusively for many months now so thought I'd give an SE a whirl, for a change.....my what a change, such a nice easy relaxing shave, more of the same tomorrow I think!!
