S.O.T.D. Sat. 8th February 2014 to Fri. 14th February 2014

Weber Polished, Bulldog
Personna Med Prep (2)
Semogue BC Cerda
Wickham Master Lather
Lucky Tiger Face Tonic
Frederic Malle Musc Ravageur

Semogue 'knocked it out of the park' with these BC forum LEs. Perfect size, excellent knot characteristics. I only wish I'd put my hand in for a Texugo as well.

The second use of Fox's soap was very positive - thoughts to come after a fairer trial.

Greetings

Thursday

Mitchell's Wool Fat
New Forest Tubby 2
#15 Aristocrat
Gillette 7 o'clock Black
Indian Old Spice AS

Just a very quick three passes this morning but the result was very good. The Tubby 2 is such a great brush, it destroys hard soaps, creams and everything in between and it's great for face lathering.

Prep: Hot shower
Pre: Proraso pre-shave - sensitive
Soap: Bodyshop Macca Root cream + Bergamot EO
Bowl: Woodhead Tall Large Scuttle
Brush: Traditional Shaving Shop badger
Razor: Weber + Bulldog
Blade: Wilkinson Sword NOS (2) + Gillette Super Thin (1)
After: M&S Harvard AS, Limes Skin Food

I'd tried this Wilkinson Sword vintage blade before with not much success but thought I'd give it another go. Very rough and hadn't seemed to reduce stubble by anything after the first pass so dumped it and carried on with a new Gillette Thin instead.

Would've managed a BBS in the end but I missed a bit under my chin. I'll do a better job tomorrow.

Enjoy your day folks.

Custom made by myself Black Walnut & White Ash TGN Finest fan 20mm
Gillette 1925 Big Fellow New Improved

Cold rinse
Thayers Lavender witch hazel
Old Spice Sensitive aftershave

A lovely shave. I had the soap dialled in better today and wow the lather filled the scuttle ! lovely stable, slick and moisturising lather. I like the scent too. I have some more of this artisans soaps ordered and some in my sights. The processing on this soap was quick, the others no doubt will take their time for dispatch .

Cold water splash
Klar Kabinett
Shavemac 177 Silvertip
Weber Polished / Bulldog
Gillette Silver Blue (3)
Myrsol Emulsion

Have a good evening, everyone.

Prep: Shower & Myrsol Emulsion (I have no idea if it makes much different, I suspect if I didn't shower it would help noticeably but I enjoy it so I use it...)
Brush: Simpsons E3 Manchurian
Soap: MWF
Razor: iKon OC
Blade: Derby (thought I'd give them a go after not using them for a couple of years)
Finish: Myrsol Aqua Balsamica

I thought I'd achieved a pretty good, close shave even though it took 4 passes and some touching up. However, I had to add some Speick balm and I've got razor burn on my top lip and under my chin. Derbys are just not sharp enough for me, the other four are going into the blade safe when I get home

Pre: Village Barber oil
Soap: Super Smooth - Southsea Spray - Wickham Soap Co.
Brush: Simpson Tulip-1 (Super)
Razor: EJ DE89 with Templ8 custom handle
Blade: Exchange Select [Israeli Personna] (1)
Post: Thayer's Original witch hazel
AS: Village Barber balm

Mr. Fox has done it again with this soap! Performance was outstanding!
AAFES Exchange Select blade was average. BBS in 3 passes with no irritation.

Liz Earle C&P
Liz Earle Shave Cream
Vie-Long Horse
Goodfella Black
Treet Platinum
Witch Hazel
M&S Amber.
Been using this OC razor for two weeks now and it shaves like a dream.
My go to razor at the moment. Will give me a super smooth shave with
One pass. After a mixed start with it I put it away for months but I love
It now. Technique I guess.
