S.O.T.D. Sat. 8th February 2014 to Fri. 14th February 2014

After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:

Savile Row badger
'Webly'/Wilkinson Super Sword Edge (NOS late 50's)
LaToja Crema de Afeitar SC (classic)
Myrsol Emulsion
no EdT for some reason

Last couple shaves I've used this shaving cream from Spain, sent to me by a very nice crazy Spanish snake oil salesman. From what he said this stuff is very inexpensive, which goes to show that a good product doesn't need to be pricey.

Slip and cushion was very pleasant and the scent wasn't bad at all. Post shave skin care is certainly better than average. This may be one of those best bang for the buck things. Thanks for the chance to test drive something new.

This old blade is just now starting to pull a smidge after 4 shaves. Probably still a few more days worth left.

BBS results,

Martin

MRGLO
#66 Aristocrat
Scottish Permasharp (7)
TOBS Imitation Badger
GFT Sandalwood + Speick
Superdrug Forest Fresh A/S

Another lovely combination with the sandalwood and lavender. I think I'm going for a new record with the Scottish Permasharp blade - shave 7 and not the slightest deterioration in performance!

Pre: Village Barber oil
Soap: Super Smooth - Southsea Spray - Wickham Soap Co.
Brush: Simpson Tulip-1 (Super)
Razor: EJ DE89 with Templ8 custom handle
Blade: Exchange Select [Israeli Personna] (2)
Post: Thayer's Original witch hazel
AS: Nivea Sensitive balm

Repeat performance from yesterday. Performance was outstanding!
But this time I used a ridiculous amount of water in the brush to start (tried to make it fail). Soap rebounded from the false-start and thickened up nicely. BBS in 3 passes with no irritation.

Hot shower
Hot flannel
Mike's Barbershop scuttle lathered
Custom made by myself White Ash & Walnut, TGN Finest Badger 22mm
Gillette Big Fellow New Improved
Sputnik (2)
Cold rinse
Thayers Lavender witch hazel
Old Spice Sensitive aftershave

A fine shave, I brought out the Mike's soap which came through the post this week. I made a scuttle of lather with no trouble. I worked it a little longer than some soaps and it was fine.
