Hot shower
Hot flannel
Tabac stick grated scuttle lathered
Simpson Keyhole 2 best badger brush
Gillette 1934 Aristocrat
Vintage Wilkinson Sword (1)
Cold rinse
Thayers Lavender witch hazel
Old Spice Sensitive aftershave

Decent shave. First use for the Keyhole after doing a couple of test lathers to clean it. The blade a vintage British made Wilkinson, and no longer made in the UK.

Monday.

Merkur Futur
Gillette Platinum "Swede" Blade
Semogue 620 Boar Brush
Mama Bear's Unscented Shaving Soap

A recent purchase of a Futur for a friend of mine encouraged me to dig mine out and give it a go. I'd almost forgotten how good the Futur is.

2 days growth removed with 1 wtg pass and some touch-ups, all with the razor set to 1.5.

Last day at work today until the new year, although I am doing some work from home.

Just love that Gold Barley Edwin Jagger!

Monday's Ministrations:

EJ DE89L, Vintage Gillette Swede (thanks to Antdad)
Hand-Carved Beech 24mm 2-Band Finest
Ingrams
Alum
AA Bay Citrus ASB
AA Bay Citrus EdT

Forgot to bring aftershave or witch hazel to Mater's so used alum which I normally reserve for 'pit' use. Did the job surprisingly well in tandem with the Bay Citrus ASB. What a blade! If I only I had a Kingdom to trade for a lifetime's supply of these.......

The Edwin Jagger Experience ...

Hot Towel
Edwin Jagger PSC
Edwin Jagger Mentholated Shaving Soap
Edwin Jagger Best Badger 21mm
Hot Rinse
Cold Rinse
Alum Wash
Witch Hazel
Old Spice Aftershave

Face lathered
Two pass - both WTG

First full face shave with my Edwin Jagger straight. It's not the smoothest thing I've scraped across my face, but a definite cut well above the Dorco blades in my CJB Kamisori. I've scraped down my cheeks with this before as well as a clean-up on my neck, but as I introduced, this was my first full face shave.

It went well ...

Two nicks - well, one nick and a slice. Nick on my top lip right in the complicated bit beneath one nostril and a dig in on my chin being ... well, stupid.

Nothing bled beyond a second pass, the alum proved it was a new shaving experience and the Witch Hazel was very welcome. Something sweet, spicy and relieving for afters: Old Spice. Love it!

In all, a good shave. I'll have something to shave off on Christmas Day.

Cheers, all.

Prep: Hot shower
Pre: Proraso preshave
Soap: Stirling Earl Grey
Brush: MÜHLE Kosmo silvertip synthetic
Razor: Progress @3, 2.5, 2.5
Blade: Rapira SS (3)
After: Barbershop Bay Run, Bodyshop Arber ASB

Face lathered with the Stirling/Kosmo, great partnership to give an easy slick lather. Earl Grey scent is almost non-existent though.
Another fab shave with the Progress resulting in another BBS.

Schick M non-adjustable model
Schick Krona injector
Edwin Jagger boar
St. James Founders Reserve Cedarwood and Clarysage cream
Groomed balm

Very nice. These vintage Schick blades aren't the closest but they're a damn sight better for me than the modern Personna. I would say the modern Schicks probably top them for sharpness though

D.R. Harris Levanter, soap
