My first straight shave.....love it, love it, love it and more importantly I survived despite swmbo insisting I wouldn't. Only did sides and neck WTG. Small nick but that was more about coordinating left hand in a mirror but I cant believe how close you get at first pass when it doesn't feel as sharp as a DE blade

Thanks to all for advice and guidance and especiialy Rob I think it was who said buy a basic strop. I did and as you predicted, although I didn't cut right into it, I did manage to leave a scratch and you're right, if that had been on a £150 strop it would have been tears over Xmas!

very nice. im really enjoying the aqua velva at the moment, but as someone mentioned on another thread recently, im absolutely staggered by the bottle design where more ends up in the sink than on my hands when i shake some out. its uncanny.

Excellent. Did one half with the DE combo and one half with the injector as I am sad and childish enough to want to try my new acquisitions out at the same time. Still got injector blades and an injector razor to try tomorrow night.
