I Acquired this today....
A kind friend of mine found it amongst her Late Father's stuff.....
It had a bit of soap scum and lime scale residue but cleaned it up the best I could.

Lovely! Really nice to have a story with a razor and nice that you'll be carrying on with it. It's from the very end of the 1940s and into the 1950s, often packaged in clamshell cases as a DeLuxe model or a lighter rectangular flip-open case.

What's the identifying marks/features that bring you to that conclusion?
I'm just curious as I like to tell people after they use our bathroom/loo.... And then say "by'eck, thas got a load of razors ant thi lad?" Well they would back'ome...
Darn'ere they just say, "your wired" and ask nothing about the razors.... :ROFLMAO:

Brooklyn New York, aluminum hexagonal handle,... is that a bathroom set razor? Is that an English only aluminum handle?

I didn't have my specs on ... and saw only the hande.

Indeed, that appears to be the British aluminium handle found on (some) of the clamshell DeLuxe sets and those into the '50s like this kind of set (the red, green and blue at the back): https://www.theshavingroom.co.uk/community/threads/ever-ready-flip-open-c-1950s.55097/.

The head, however, is pre-1930s (post-1919) American by the comb which is the wider style that was refined post-1930s in America but the British made kept the original comb. It has a flat cap, rather than curved, and so sits later in that date bracket.

My delayed green cult has been forgotten about as the Hone has landed! A lost first attempt later and a Parcelforce failure to notify me the 2nd replacement razor had arrived in the country and needed custom fees paying, (£53!) I finally have my hands on the Hone 15s. The look and weight are a massive improvement, I prefer the shorter handle to my long handled brass version. It’s texture does feel a little… more something, in comparison to the relatively smooth brass versions finish. But I do love it.
I can’t believe Parcelforce’s cheek to be honest! Over £12 handling fees! They didn’t contact me to say it had fees, they hadn’t even made a delivery attempt, if I hadn’t rung up to chase it I would have thought it lost a second time! Basically I’ve paid through the nose for them to move it to my local depot and pick it up myself.
The Hayes Meadow is a lovely first attempt by a UK farm producer. It’s being reformulated but the base is spot on, more volume than HWF but just as creamy and yogurt like and a great post shave feel. The scent is light but I believe that’s being addressed on batch v2.

Rocca Birch Set.jpg locc .jpg

I got my first Muhle Rocca in Feb and its been a revelation. The birch handled option was my preferred choice but I wanted to confirm I liked the razor before dropping the cash on one so I bought a black handled V3 from ebay. I've been stunned at the results from this razor and with incredible ease and comfort it's my closest shaver bar none. I'm getting BBS shaves without even trying and thats a first for me in 7+ years of DE shaving. Added to that my rotation has been non existent for weeks its fair to say the Rocca has made a serious impression.
Thanks to @jphelan81 and BST I was over the moon to pick up this birch handled V4 recently and I couldn't resist completing the set with matching brush and stand when I saw them on discount.
L'Occitane Cap Cedrat is a great addition for summer. Just a pity there's no matching shaving soap / cream.

It’s arrived! First impressions are great, it’s a solid, strong razor on the hand, I like the knurling, the head and the machined, patterned polish it has. The handle is long but I don’t mind that too much. The head’s groves remind me very much of my much missed Blackbird. I’ll try it first thing tomorrow but I think for £39 it’s going to be a bargain.

Small sample pack. 2 sets of Supermax as I like their regular blades, so trying some out of their higher range that I think I'll probably stick to. No idea about the others, but Big Ben were cheap, so it may save money if I like them.

7 O'clocks are great, I had some awful BICs, and I thought the BIG BENs were dull. I've used the regular Supermax and liked them, never tried those particular ones or those Gillettes. Good luck!
