SOTD 26 JANUARY 2016

SOAP: Catie's Glace Herbe
BRUSG: Shavemac Silvertip Two Band 26x50
RAZOR: ATT R1 with UFO handle
RAZOR: Feather #1
LOADING: Técnica Wet Brush
LEATHERING: En Cara
TWO PASSES IN THE FACE
THREE PASSES IN THE HEAD
RAZOR FOR THE HEAD: R41
RAZOR FOR R41: Iridium Súper.
BALM: Korres
AFTER: Fine Clean Vetiver

The brush is fantastic. It has very soft points but the trunk is quite sturdy, a little harder than a normal Silvertip but the D01 model is stronger and it gives another type of sensations.

Soap: Palmolive shaving stick.
Brush: Wilkinson Sword bristle.
Razor: Rimei.
Blade: Voskhod (3).
Post: Boots aftershave balm.

I thought I'd mix my routine up a bit and throw a "humble" back-to-basics shave in there.

I applied the Palmolive directly to my face by rubbing it across my stubble and then face lathered.

I've never used this razor before (£2.60 delivered from China :D) but it worked well. The angle is a bit fussy - stray any way by a whisker and you feel the razor and not the blade - but apart from that, the shave was easy and good.

The brush was adequate once you get used to its complete lack of backbone (hence loading the soap directly onto the face) but it is quite satisfying massaging the face with the brush at full-splay with quite a lot of pressure (and very good for exfoliation too I imagine).

Overall, a very satisfying shave. :)

Brian, I'm interested how you attached the handle.

@SharpSpine : I'm interested too. Only two ways that I can think of. Either you re-tap the thread on the 1914 head to M5 and add a grub screw or bolt to the head, or you fit a thread adapter to convert to M5.
I've not seen a converter from Lather Catcher thread to M5 but it would be very cool if it were made (I'm guessing it's not that difficult for someone who knows what they're doing).

The last time I used the Tech I swore I'd never use it again. Didn't like the lightweight feel of it. So I tried it with a different handle and loaded with a Voskhod was really smooth!
Also liking this Twa Burds soap. Not sure what Burds of Paradise should smell like but I'm getting chocolate orange off this.

1st pass with the 'Goose, 2nd pass with my trusty M23, which is far easier to use and give much better results - for me anyway. Next I'll try the M23 with a cut down Feather as per @Fergiebilly's guide ;)
