Indeed - John Dory is delicious. More common on the east coast. We get excellent local scallops, and razor clams are a big favourite in southern waters, particularly South Australia. In my neck of the woods, there are a plethora of tasty fish; IMHO the best of which are the Dhufish, Red Emperor, Baldchin Groper, and Coral Trout.

Leftover Monday ...

Leftover roast potatoes and some veg from Sunday Dinner. I popped a tin plate on top of the bowl and a couple of salmon steaks to bake, while the veg warmed through. Creamy sauce - just Chicken Bisto and a splash of double-cream, kinda like IKEA meatball sauce.

When you forget to go shopping. Sausage in a bun...

I found a couple of garlic and herb flatbeads in the freezer, so thawed 'em out, cooked 'em and topped with shredded chicken, feta cheese, avocado, olives, tomato and spring onion. Lashings of a dressing I made up with Salad Cream, Sriracha Tabasco, Greek yogurt and lemon juice.

Takeaway night for me, and a mucky mixed grill...

Sat 4th May
Venison Fillet Steak, Majorcan New Potatoes,Green beans, Peas and Madeira Gravy.
Done medium rare was very tasty and tender.

Cheese on toast ... we had a big Fish & Chips for lunch.

We had bought Fish Cake over garlic crushed potatoes with a little salad.

Got some Wood Pidgeon, will try out a new casserole pan later on today.
