Saturday:

Hot towel prep
English HD Rocket
7 O'clock Yellow
Simpson Chubby 2
TOBS Lemon & Lime cream
Extra cold rinse

BBS today... a great start to the weekend

Have a good one :icon_razz:

Hot towel prep
Proraso pre shave
T&H west Indian lime cream / Kent bk2
EJ 89 / Feather (3rd and final time of asking)
Alum
T&H w.i. Balm
Floris limes cologne

Everything smells nice, but the blade was rough enough that I'm glad tomorrow is my day off. I guess two shaves is enough for a feather blade.

Fatboy with 7 o'clock yellow (3)
EJ pure badger
TOBS avocado cream
Ogallala bay rum limes and peppercorns
RSC balm

First shave with a vintage, courtesy of Dodgy's very generous pass-around. Close and comfortable. Tried 6, 3, then dialled up to 4. Will turn it up a notch or 2 next time as the neck touch up needed a bit of effort. Either from having it dialled down too low or the blade starting to dull. Most likely a bit of both.

After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:

vintage butterscotch Ever Ready badger
Aristocrat #16/Wilkinson Sword Edge (NOS)
TSD coconut SS
Guerlain Vetiver AS (vintage juice)

Been a while since getting the #16 outta the arsenal, and it called to me this morning. Man, this razor is a great example of Limey Gillette workmanship.

I was thinking before the shave that the old Wilkinson blade might be a little too sharp for this razor and that mighta been the case. Not quite as comfortable as what I'm used to, but that's the deal with all my change of pace razors. Yeah, they're preset to a tad higher than my perfect #4 setting, so I know that's always gonna be the case when using one. Guess I was hoping for a perfect experience somehow when using this Aristo/Wilkinson combo. Still, a nice enough overall experience. Didn't want to bother trying another blade that mighta worked a little better.

Heh, I think I got spoiled using the Stahly head so often now. That goofy thing fits me about perfect.

BBS results,

Martin

For various reasons I hadn't shaved since Wednesday morning so had significant growth to sort out tonight.

Prep: Hot Shower
Cream: TOBS Jermyn Street
Razor: Gillette Slim Adjustable
Blade: Gillette 7 o'clock (yellow)
Brush: Neep Extra Silvertip
Balm: Barbershop Bay Rum

A few days rest seems to make loads of difference as I had a wonderful.smooth BBS shave.

This morning:

Prep: Hot shower
Razor: Feather Artist Club RG (wood), Pro blade (1)
Brush: New Forest High Mountain Badger
Soap: Klar Kabinett
Aftershave: Prof Blighty's Rosewood
Result: comfortable, but marginally less close than usual

A new blade in the Artist Club is always an occasion for caution. Good shave, slightly disappointing lather but perfectly fine in the end.

Sunday

Merkur Progress
Astra SP Blade

Provence Santé Shaving Soap

No shave yesterday, as I was up and out early to count birds (feathered).

Another shave with no a/s product.
