Sunday
Tried out the new/old, 'made in England', Gold tone ?aristo Jr / rocket /? Today. Used it with TSR's own French RT soft soap. Boar Brush and a new Bic bladed. Follow was TSR's own Bay Rum.
What ever the razor is, it's handsome; well balanced; and very friendly to shave with. One for the English.
Dovo Prima Silver Steel
Penhaligan's English Fern Soap
Simpson 57
Alum
Old Spice Whitewater
A close comfortable shave, this Dovo is awesome. My 1st use of English Fern and not 100% successful, oddly the lather was exiting the brush from the base in a way that I don't usually find. I think this soap may be best suited to bowl lathering than face lathering. I shall persist though as having palm lathered to get the right consistency it was great.
Prep: Hot shower
Brush: New Forest, 2201
Razor: Max Sprecher
Soap: GFT Sandalwood
AS: Proraso
Strops: Neil Miller
Result: Very, very clean
First go with this soap and I like it and I had read up on it and it was harder than other soaps to lather and I still can get it better, I think. First time ever I flooded my enormous SWK scuttle as well, since I loaded like mad + had water on the soap for a minute or two. But what about the razor you're wondering by now - it was AWESOME!
