SOTD w/c Sat 17th - Fri 23rd incl.

After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:

Savile Row #204 badger flopmeister
1958 Executive/Personna74 (NOS)
Nancy Boy SC
Barbershop Bay Rum AS
Caron 'Yatagan' EdT (current version with less celery and pine than the vintage juice)

I've been hearing about this Nancy Boy stuff for five years, and thanks to Benefactor Bob I got to finally try some. Interesting scent...kinda pepperminty. mentholy, medicinally sorta thing. Doesn't agree with my oversized schnozzola, sad to say. Worked fine though, and a very old monkey was finally removed from my back.

BBS results,

Martin

Saturday

Merkur 34C
SuperMax SS
Semogue 2015
Cella
Vifrex Dopobarba

I had a revelation today... it's name was Cella.

The perfect balance of close/smooth/comfortable today. Isn't that what we are all really looking for?

Long may it continue i.e. hope this level of excellence wasn't a fluke.

This evening:

Hot shower
Feather Artist Club RG (wood), ProGuard blade (9)
La Toja stick
Vulfix 404 "bodger"
Trumper's Coral skin food and GFT cologne

The away team, as I'm in a hotel in Bournemouth for the commonwealth powerlifting championships. Very good shave indeed.

Saturday:

Penhaligons blenheim bouquet hard soap
Edwin Jagger black badger
Merkur 34 C HD
Gillette 7 o'clock green SS (1)
Penhaligons BB Eau de toilette

This Penhaligons soap is truly awful. Even so, while it does fizzle out after a minute it's just about slippy enough so I wasn't going to let that ruin things, still a pretty good shave and I faceturbated my way through a very boring works do later this evening.

Gillette 1930s open comb New
Vintage 7 o'clock blade
Trumpers West Indian Limes Skin Food as pre and post-shave
St. James of London cedarwood and clarysage cream

These blades, which are probably 50+ years old, don't drag unlike many others of the time and produced a fairly close shave. Glad I just bought 95 of them.
Skin food is nice. Think I prefer it as a post-shave to pre

Sunday 18th December, morning chaps

Hot shower
Proraso pre/post
Crabtree & Evelyn Sienna cream
Merkur 39c
Gilliette 7 o'clock yellow (2)
Alum
RSC aftershave balm
Pinaud Clubman

Using my favourite razor and blade combo. I'm realising that with this combo there is a fine line between a great shave and one that ruins your face. Yesterday was shocking, today was brilliant. Technique, technique, technique. Especially important with an aggressive razor.

BBS and happy!

Sunday

Miraculously, the sun has come out. Quick, grab the camera.
