Second use of this Astra SP. A little harsh feeling as I shaved but it didn't leave any soreness. I didn't get as close as I often try despite temptation to get a close shave at the expense of comfort.

Rating: 4 / 5

Razor: Edwin Jagger DE89
Blade: Astra Superior Platinum
Brush: Vulfix 404 "The Grosvenor"
Lather: Imperial Leather Shave stick, brown and gold
Aftershave: Boots Freshwood https://shavingbuddies.com/shave/6460b2087561cd6e4045be95

Pre - Droyt's Classic Glycerose Soap
Brush - AP Shave 24mm Silksmoke
Soap - Martin De Candre Original
Razor - Razorock Lupo 72 - Alpha Bravo Handle
Blade - Wizamet Super Iridium
Post - Cold water Rinse
Balm - Barts Balm Ben Lomond - Cinnamon & Patchouli
A/S - Mäurer & Wirtz 4711 EDC

I am going to try a few handles on the Lupo this week, to see if my preferred handle is "the one".
First real use of the Silksmoke knot after a couple of test lathers which i won in the very generous PIF from Iain @Digimonkey.
I really like the handle shape and colour although i am not too sure about the knot, i am not sure if the crimped bristles make it feel too nylon if that makes sense, also i think it would look really good with a white cashmere in there. I will see. One thing it did well was produce lots of lather from very little MDC in a bowl.
The razor performed brilliantly giving me a comfortable, BBS finish from 2 passes with a few pick ups.
Stay safe and enjoy your day all.

Sunday 14th May

Soap • Wickham 1012 Citrus Musk
Brush • Yaqi Chianti 24mm Synthetic
Razor • Feather ACSR-NB
Blade • Kai Captain Titan Mild Pink (1)
Post • 4711 Aftershave
Scent • Penhalligons Bayolea EdT

I'm not keen on un-guarded blades in these open AC razors. I picked up a couple of small cuts, something that doesn't happen with guarded blades. This blade is now resigned to use in my Hawk V3 (for safety's sake!)

Enjoy your Sunday everyone

May 14. 2023.

Razor - Ever-Ready 1912 fitted with a E-R Streamline handle
Blade - Personna Gem
Soap - Signature Soaps - Capra
Brush - Alpha Bulldog silvertip fan
Bowl - Capitans Choice - Copper
Post - Refinery ASB
Frag - Citron Citron - Miller Harris EDP

A wonderful shave for Milky May, the Sig Soaps Capra always whipps up to a luxurious creamy lather and my skin loves it!
The E-R 1912 was perfect, the sound whilst shaving is something that you have to hear for yourself, you certainly know when it's at the perfect angle!
A super smooth finish leaving my skin soft and supple.
A few sprays of Citron Citron is perfect for this warm weather we have at the moment.

Until the next time, stay safe and shave happy! :)

Paul.

Head and face SOTD
Pre The Cube
Yaqi Mercury and Leaf razor both loaded with Gillette Super Blue.
Simpson T3 brush.
Signature Wicstun Soap.
Pitralon classic splash.
My Beard Conditioner and face balm.

Outstanding! The Mercury head is on the milder side, much like an 89 head. However, it's much more efficient than said head and very smooth.
Signature Wicstun is a delight to use, smells great, and leaves me feeling soft and supple.
Happy Shaving

Brush: Muhle R89 - Hexagon (Forest Green) -Synthetic

I know majority highly rate Astra SPs but I'm definitely part of the minority. A mediocre blade as far as I'm concerned.
Doesn't shine on any characteristic.
