Razor: Occam’s Oren
Blade: Kai Captain Titan Mild ( Yellow ), 1st use
Brush: Knothead Brush Works 26mm AP Shave Co. Synbad
Bowl: 3D Printed Bowl
Preshave: PAA Cube Unscented Soap
Soap: House Of Mammoth Damocles Puck
Balm: The Inkey List Vitamin B, C And E Moisturiser Balm
Fragrance: Paco Rabanne 1 Million Eau de Toilette

The HOM base is becoming a firm favourite even if this isn’t my favourite in my bag of samples. The Oren while still a new favourite isn’t quite as effortless with the Kai Yellow. It felt a little harsh at first but levelled off in the end. Certainly my least favourite blade pairing so far, and one I’m certain is the blade rather than the razor. YMMV was never more true in this case. It just wasn’t the magic pairing I’ve had so far, good in the end but not as amazing as the others I’d tried.

Could you make out the Metal scent in the soap ?

Could you make out the Metal scent in the soap ?
Yes definitely and the leather. For some reason it reminded me of an English company called Apothecary 87 which specialises in hair products, (though they’ve just bought out a shaving cream too) They do a clay pomade that is scented like gunpowder which has a similar scent profile.

Sweet shave, I've been waiting for 42 to arrive and I'm not disappointed. Today being a Saturday, I spent time honing a few blades and two out of the three Wade and Butcher that I have were due. The square point I used today was finished on my ilr stone, nice shave with a bbs finish. My usual start with a face wash, oil, and a hot towel. Barrister and Mann once again comes through with an unusual but delightful scent just right for Douglas Adams legacy and as with most of their soaps I've used, it's a thirsty one! A light stinging (pleasant) with the splash which was quelled with a hot towel followed by the aftershave balm. The eau de toilette capped the shave perfectly!

Greetings,

A relaxing Sunday morning shave.

It's been a while since I've last added the Cella extra extra Bio shaving cream to my shave set ups, and forgot how good this vegan version of it's tallow sibling performs. Like the tallow version it's slick protective and doesn't dry out on my face and leaving my face feeling hydrated and smooth. I intend to use this cream more often in future shaves.

A comfortable 2 pass + pick ups shave with no errors to report. Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of Aloe Vera Gel.

My face is feeling super smooth & smelling divine. ;)

Keep safe, and enjoy your Sunday ladies & gentlemen.

OK, let's see what this Flatboy is all about.

I didn't shave yesterday, so it's got a decent amount of growth to get through:

Pre-shave consists of a decent breakfast and strong coffee.

Right, here we go. The Shark SS is on its 2nd outing and the Old Spice cream is well out of date!

A hot wash is followed by face lathering and two passes, with a little tidying. A little more than usual actually. All finished off with a cold wash and a sting free application of alum then AS.

I said before that this razor feels about as efficient as a Rockwell 6S on plate 5. That's probably right. It may be plate 4, but I've not tried that. After my usual two passes my face is very smooth. My neck not quite so much. Smooth enough though, with no visible hair.

It's a very easy razor to use. My skin is very comfortable and I'm sure that it would be totally BBS with 3 passes. But I like to stop at 2 with a little tidying.

It's no R41, but it is fun.

Razor: Occam’s Oren
Blade: Kai Captain Titan Mild ( Yellow ), 2nd use
Brush: Shedeleven Spalted Scottish Hawthorn AP Shave Co G5C 26mm Fan
Bowl: 3D Printed Bowl
Preshave: Bart’s Balms Lochnagar Oil
Soap: Noble Otter Neon Sun Puck
Balm: Ariana & Evans Rice Water Serum - Cashmere Velvet
Fragrance: PAA Future Fiction EdT

A much improved shave on the second outing with the Kai Yellow. However so far the Feather Pro Guard and standard Pro were still the standout shaves for me. I’ve got to say it’s been lovely focusing on one razor for over a week and an absolute testament to how good I’ve found the razor. I’ve an original on the way in the next few days so it will be interesting to see how they compare, it’s fair to say I’ll still be on the hunt regardless for the unobtainable Oren.
I tried the last of the Noble Otter samples @Mike Smart sent me. I knew I would love it having had the EDP. It will have to be added back to the den at a later date.

Razor: Friodur 17

Excellent shave this morning, thoroughly enjoyable couple of days on the straights, will certainly try to make this the routine.

It's taken a while to whittle it down, but in terms of scent this continues to be my favourite. Now I'm wondering whether 3 spares is enough!

Hope everyone has had a grand weekend.

Cheers

Marc
