SOTD : Saturday 8th January-Friday 14th January 2022.

Saturday 8th

I used the Z3 Superspeed flare tip with the super silver blade for the last shave.
I used the Droid black soap and Floid black splash.
3 passes as 2 just didn't cut it.
I must have really enjoyed it though, as no pic due to finishing off and packing away then giving the razor a quick clean up.
Good start to the day.

Lovely razor

Soap – Bodyshop Maca Root Cream
Brush – Razorock Bruce
Razor – EJ 3ONE6
Blade – Gillette 7 O’Clock Super Stainless ( 2 )
A/S – Floid Mentolado Vigaroso
Balm – Nivea Fresh Kick

My last shave with the BS Maca Root was the first time I was ever disappointed with it and I thought maybe it had gone bad. Today proved that a numbnut was behind the wheel last time and any failure was down to driver error. A reminder that its possible to f*ck up a lather regardless how often you’ve used a soap in the past.
The fantastic performance of this cream was fully restored today and I had the super smooth, comfortable shave that this setup has always delivered.
Finished off with Floid MV complimented very nicely by some added minty freshness from the Nivea balm that Santa left me.

Have a great weekend and enjoy your shaves !

Razor: Blackland Blackbird
Blade: Rapira Platinum Lux, 3rd use
Brush: Omega #625 silver tip badger
Bowl: Captains Choice Copper Lather Bowl Standard Bowl
Preshave: PAA Cube Unscented Soap
Soap: Extro Cosmesi Arancia Italiana Croap
Aftershave: Yaqi/Master Soap Creations Hypnotic Blue Aftershave
Balm: Bart’s Balm Sample Balm

Had a break from the Yaqi Telstar and had a lovely shave with the Blackbird. Shaves close, clean and easily and irritation free despite it being the most aggressive razor I own. A great start to the weekend!
Enjoy the weekend guys!

Razor: Wolfman WR3 (Day 1), iKon OSS handle
Blade: Personna GEM, coated stainless (1)
Soap: 50/50 blend of A&E Tertius and Nuávia Rossa
Finish: Pinaud Clubman Bump Repair; Tertius

The shave: I took a cautious approach, first GEM shave in a good while. One pass N→S told me the setup was milder than I imagined. I did another three passes, experimenting with different angles and strokes. By the end of the shave, I think I was hitting the sweet spot, but tomorrow I'm going to have more time to indulge. I didn't quite go all the way to BBS today.

I must say, first impressions are that the feel is similar to the Sabre L2 (if anything, slightly less aggressive), only your hand is further from the action because of the head shape—which did not feel at all unwieldy, despite appearances. Because of that, I think I'm going to pick up a couple of older GEM razors to play with. Those large heads are not so off-putting any more, and the prices are favourable.

Tomorrow is time to go with a lighter handle and a bolder approach.
