Indeed...I'll keep an eagle eye out; though I suspect they'll be like hen's teeth. I love a vintage Gillette.I wanted to find one of each handle and case, only to find out they weren't just cool looking, but ended up being amazing shavers. Putting that set or the 504 in your cross-hairs isn't a bad idea.
I love Caravaggio! I fell in love with his painting and use of imagery in Italy. BTW, Andrew would be the young guy.View attachment 49439
'The Calling of Saints Peter and Andrew' - Caravaggio
Sotd - Saturday the 30th of November
Prep - Bulldog facial scrub
razor - Ikon X3 on Rockwell s/s handle
blade - Super Max Titanium (5! - who would have thought)
brush - Kent BK2 pure badger
soap - PAA - CaD
post - witch hazel
a/s - Deliplus locion
balm - Nivea Cool Gel Hidrante.
Result - all good.
I'm enjoying revisiting my 'scritchy' badgers - exfoliation writ large - scritch and scratch are different things - the former good - the latter bad. The Kent was my first 'proper' brush that I bought - years ago - when I decided - this was my way of shaving. Never looked back. Let us enjoy our badger brushes - as time allows - before they become illegal - the filth come crashing through your front door - they will take my Chubby 1 and 2 - 'out of my cold, dead hands' - mind you - that - I think is a quote from Charlton Heston - who is a total arsehole - in my opinion. See 'Bowling for Columbine' - for reference.
@Palmolive fox - thank you for mentioning the 'Jocks' here - I hadn't realised that it was St. Andrew's day - I'm not sure what that is about? Burn's night - sure - we get to pour whisky on our haggis - in memory of a - not that good - philandering - tax collector - poet. Andrew - our patron saint - obviously - but - in the way of these things - a highly dubious medieval attribution. Like St George - probably a Roman officer - of Turkish birth - 'three lions on my shirt' - indeed. Yours - have good shaves - cheers - I.
Oh - I'm not sure which one Andrew is in the picture - look like hipsters to me - at least Jesus could find his razor.
By Jim O'Connell who was there along with a couple of my friends.
