Brush Yaqi 24mm Robin Clear Handle
Razor Thiers Issard 69 Frameback
Aftershave Stirling Iced Pineapple Splash
Perfect soap for today's shave. Creamy, slick, and refreshing...
I've always wanted a frameback and got this vintage via Ebay. Honed it myself using cheap stones and finished on the Naniwa 12k then the Kanayama strop. Wow...was surprised by the nice smooth & comfortable edge. Was expecting the worse. A satisfactory 3 passes for a mixed dfs-ccs-sas finish without any issues. Very happy indeed!

A relaxing Sunday morning shave.

It's been a while since I've last added the Supermax classic shave cream to my shave set ups, and forgot how good this inexpensive shave cream performs, it's slick protective and doesn't dry out on my face and leaves my face feeling hydrated and smooth. I intend to use this cream more often.

A comfortable 2 pass + pick-ups silky smooth shave with no errors to report. Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of Wilko Men's ASB.

My face is feeling cool, smooth & smelling divine. ;)

Stay Safe and enjoy your Sunday Ladies & Gentlemen.

Its been a long time since i used a super-sharp KAI blade and thought it might enhance the performance of the "mildish" L3 ERA, how right i was.
The DSC brush only needs the slightest of water, so i dip the tips only up to about 10mm deep, a light flick then load up. I then dip and face lather as i go, i had enough slick, fresh scented lather for 3 passes easily in no time.
The razor/blade combo felt smooth and sharp from the first stroke, i completed 2 passes giving me a very nice comfortable finish.
A matching post shave routine setting me up for the day.
A wonderful shave that.
Stay safe and enjoy your day all.

Consecutive Daily Shaves - # 1,490

I was happy to get the Original "The King" razor by Clark when I saw it pop up for the 1st time ever.................until I shaved with it. The design had me fileted in 3 places with 2 strokes. Not due to technigue or an aggressive razor but the design and now I see why it was redesigned quickly an had a few iterations. The method for securing the blade was changed completely after the first. The original bellied the blade up in the center area of the cutting edge and hence my 2 slices. I switched to the Silver King to finish the first pass and passes 2 & 3 as well to finish the shave which was an uneventful smooth shave after the relief razor entered the game. Still happy to have the Original as I have NEVER seen another "The King" before for sale or in a SOTD picture. Not saying they aren't out there but I'd love to see another if anyone has one. Have a great day everyone !

Razor: Blackland Era, level 5 plate
Blade: Astra SP, 1st use
Brush: AP Shave Co. Lemon Drop G5A
Bowl: 3D Printed Bowl
Preshave: Bart’s Balms Lochnagar Oil
Soap: A&E Vida Puck
Aftershave: A&E Vida Aftershave
Balm: L’Oréal All In 1 Moisturising Cream Balm

Though tempted to grab another few days with the Shield I had another new toy to try out, a level 5 OC plate generously given to me by Marc @Crossan. The guys in this forum really are a great bunch! Somehow it felt smoother than the level 3 and never felt like it would bite. I realistically shouldn’t have used the level 5, I had minimal growth from a good few days with the Vector and Shield but I couldn’t make the new plate wait any longer so thought sod it! I was so glad I did it as it was amazingly smooth and a great shave that left my skin completely smooth. It’s only served to push me to hunt even more plates down now as it really is an amazing little razor.

Sunday 4 December

The day of the wolf, RR Lupo double comb with new Perma Sharp Super blade. La Toja soap applied easily and creamily applied with Kent bristle. Another top quality razor from RR, I would rate the performance of this bad boy with Outlaw and Wolfman. It’s certainly as well designed, manufactured and finished. Needs just the lightest of touch with either edge and two passes for a smooth shave. Bliss!
My thanks go to Boycie for putting this one my way, (y)
Have a great Sunday fellas,

Post: Black Watch AS

New delivery from maggards, Black Watch and Sea Spice Lime sets, that was bloody swift, an extra $2 dollars on delivery made a considerable difference.

First up the Black Watch, initial impressions off the puck was nice but it wasn't the hit I was expecting considering the things I had read about it being strong, but it is subjective so can't wholly rely. Under lathering the scent did come out and it is really nice, nice autumn/winter scent. I'd seen some notes that the lather was 'sticky' and they pretty much had to peel it off so I was a little wary, however the consistency of the initial loading seemed very similar to PAA and with that you just add more water than you think and it comes together, and this appeared to be the case here as well, ended up with a decent lather. Still prefer omnibus, but it was good for me.

On with the splash, one of the scents seems more predominant than in the soap but I wasn't able to put my finger on it. I'll probably pass it by the Mrs' nose to see if can tell me.

Overall very happy, I'm really looking forward to giving the lime a try, initial scent off the tub was amazing so as long as it lathers (I think its a different base) then I'm pretty sure it'll be a winner!

Hope everyone has a grand weekend.

Cheers

Marc
I love the spiced lime, it’s in my top 5 soap/scents and was very close to adding the Black Watch and Fleur de France this Black Friday but decided to try some HC&C instead. It’ll probably end up being my next pick up soap wise though!

Just so you know I'm not slumming it, my shave today was a repeat of yesterday's, in gear and results. So no pic. Yes, I even used the same brush twice in a row having dried it in the airing cupboard overnight. The little Ovangkol wood brush seems to have lost the scritch it had at first use already, or so it feels.

What's that? You hate it when SotD has no picture? Yeah me too, ok, gratuitous brush pic, because yesterday's pic was covered in lather.
