SOTD: Saturday 29th February to Friday 6th March of 2020

Still feeling a bit under the weather, but at least it's not raining.
Still lots of humidity, so an alcohol splash is in order.
When it's cold and humid, but no rain or standing water I like this:

Pre shave oil - Clubman
Scuttle - Q shave
Lather - Clubman tube lather
Brush - Simpson Cpt.2 in best
Razor - Merkur 1904 OC
Blade - Persona Lab Blue
Witch Hazel - T.N. Dickinson's
Aftershave - Clubman V.I. Bay Rum

The best use of (what looks to me like) a test tube holder (y).

Sunday

Phoenix and Beau Denali
Yaqi Red Marble Tuxedo 24mm synth
Face lather
R41 on iKon stainless steel handle
Feather (1)
Thayer's Lavender and Aloe Vera
Fine Snake Bite after shave

A holy (or unholy, depending) trinity of assertive razor, a blade not known for its reticence and an after shave that is somewhat psychotic. I just felt like the ultimate wake up shave this morning; and I got what I bargained for. Slow and steady did the business; and I'm cold and smooth.

Hope you're all well out there; stay safe and sensible.

Razor Newly Acquired F3 Gillette Fatboy
Blade Gillette 7 O'clock Super Platinum 1st

Load from soap and Lather in bowl. Nice lather but weak on scent. Of all my 4 Catie's soaps...this one underperform.
Shave with razor and blade pairing was great
Set 9 for 1st wtg
Set 7 for 2nd xtg/atg, nicked a bump
Set 5 for 3rd pass atg/xtg but not enough...too mild at set 5 so...
Pickup pass crank-up to set9 for atg and immediately picked up 3 weepers...hahaha. Somehow when 1st use of a Vintage sure some weepers.
Alum stopped all weepers and nick but minor feedback.
Overally was good session but just a DFS result. Rating 8/10 today.

P & B Spitfire
ES Claymore V1 / Ikon handle
Schick Proline [ 3 ]
P & B Spitfire A/S Splash

I rather enjoyed the use of this heavyweight ,did a sterling job around the upper parts. However, I needed to spend a bit more time working around the neck to make the Shave wholly satisfactory.

Rooney Emillion 1 Porcelain Finest (24/51)
Acqua di Parma Colonia shaving soap (vintage)
Paradigm Titanium II
Gillette Platinum 'Swede' (5)
Acqua di Genova 1853 aftershave

Excellent. The Colonia scents always send my imagination soaring. I noted that the Titanium II provides more auditory feedback and more blade feel than the 17-4, although it seems to be a bit less aggressive; the 17-4 is closer to Wolfman razors in that aspect. The handle of the Titanium II also is more slippery when wet, and I needed to dry it off with a towel a couple times during the shave. Tomorrow I'll try the 17-4 with a different handle, since it came with an extra top plate to allow that.
