A post for a retrospective shave. This was my last shave in my month spent with the Fatboy. I firmly conclude that for me 3 is the setting to go.

I remember reading a thread where it was discussed how adjustables are used ie kept on the same setting or change it mid shave for a different pass. Well for me the adjustability factor is a one off thing. Once I found what works that will work for all passes and all shaves. It may well be that an adjustable razor is a waste on me, which brings me to the question

'Am I going to keep the Fatboy?'

The answer is yes, it will have its place in my den as a nicely restored vintage which gives lovely shaves. If I was to sell it I would never be able to get how much I paid in getting it to this condition so another reason not to let it go.

A lovely shave - the Polish-made Iridium Super blade is a pleasure to use.

The old soap still makes excellent lather but has lost nearly all its scent, so I'm going to have to start adding rose hydrosol or sprays of vetiver cologne. The blade was extraordinarily smooth in the Diamondback. (Sorry about the dice error.) And the aftershave, on first use, is more 'smoky' than other vetivers I have had, including Guerlain; I'm not sure whether or not I like it.
