Prep: Valobra Glycerlanolina soap, Myrsol Emulsion
Brush: Paladin Lotus Select Badger
Soap: I Coloniali
Razor: Merkur Mergress (2.5)
Blade: NOS Gillette Bleue Extra (6)
Post: Thayers Cucumber Witch Hazel; Myrsol Plastic Shave
Scent: Portus Cale Black

A super shave! The unobtainium I Coloniali soap is a thirsty Italian, but once this thirst is slaked, the lather is simply superb. It has a beautiful powdery scent, and comes in a very cool terracotta bowl.
Three effortless passes and I am BBS and grinning :D.

The Grosvenor [ 404- mixed ]
Williams Mug soap
Occams - Hiram/Plate No3
Schick Proline [ 2 ]
Williams Aqua Velva A/S Lotion

Rather a shame that quite a few folk were supplied with badly made versions of this Razor, as it now has quite a poor reputation. I am lucky as I have a fully functioning one, not only looks quite good but the Shaves are proving good too. Though it might be mild for some it seems to suit me as the Shaves I get are smooth and comfortable, with a finish that is getting better the more I use it.

Brush: ES Big Jock Synthetic
Cream: Wickham's Buddha Wood (sample)
Razor: Rocca 96 v4
Blade: Super platinum
After-shave: Extrò Cosmesi Felce Biancospino

The 96 v4 with a new blade is still the closest shave I get from all my razors - and it's so comfortable with no nicks. Felce Biancospino is one of my all time favourite smells - and get comments all day long about how nice it is!

Time for a great shave! After the debacle yesterday, I decided to shave with a razor I haven't shaved with in some time, my Blackland Vector. After loading it with a Schick Proline blade I launched into what turned out to be an excellent shave.

The new Alpha Shaving brush generated that nice thick paste that was then face and head lathered into that thick, yogurty, glistening MWF lather that has served me so well this month. I'd forgotten how using the Vector feels like sweeping away the whiskers effortlessly. Two passes - WTG and ATG - did the trick.

The beauty of this razor was the way it glided over the shave surface without disturbing yesterday's injuries. Given the state of my dome and Adam's Apple, this near BBS shave was a welcome change from yesterday. I feel clean, smooth and refreshed.

RAZOR: Blackland Vector

PREP: Cold water rinse
BRUSH: Alpha Shaving T400 Synthetic
SOAP: Mitchell's Wool Fat

Today to carry on with Blackland week i chose the OC base plate for the Blackbird.
Brian's Signature soap performed flawlessly, a wonderful lather in no time with the Jayaruh #291, i really like this scent and i can recommend the soap to everyone if you have not tried it, i am sure Brian sells a travel size and these are great for trying different scents.
Using the same angle as i did with the SB earlier this week i completed an excellent 1st pass WTG using short strokes while supporting the razor weight, again there is plenty of blade feel, however, its not scary, its manageable.
I decided on a mixed XTG/ATG pass to clean up. This fellow is very, very efficient for my whiskers. BBS with a great post shave feeling from the soap.
No blood spilled, however, i do have 2 x small grazes just under the chin, complacency or over confidence, i am not sure. All sorted by a nice post shave routine.
Enjoy your Day All.

Well I last shaved on Sunday so I was indeed a bit scruffy. One of my favourite razors is the Gillette Red Tip Super Speed. I am lucky enough to own the trio and they are all good shavers in their own right. I have quite a few razors that can simply mow down whatever bread growth I have on the go but few do it as smoothly as a vintage Red Tip. Loaded up with a fresh Perma-Sharp Super.

Body Shop Maca Root & Aloe was the soap of choice today with the matching AS gel. Quite impressed with easily this soap lathers up and how slick it is. Very nice post shave feel. There is no alcohol in the AS gel and it works the charm. I know there is nothing beachfront about maca root but the aloe sure makes me remember the tropics.

Lovely two pass shave with a little buffing and BBS on a snowy Wednesday morning achieved. Happy hump day! Topped off with some Bath & Body Works Ocean EDT to compliment the beach theme...well for me anyway.

I find Blackbirds draw a very fine line between perfection and disastrous. I've had shaves where I lose faith and swear at them and others where I am in shave heaven and swear by them.

Odd razors but brilliant when on song
